I recently bought a chromebook specifically to have a cheap laptop that i could lug around with me for data mining work that I do and while i'm overall happy with it, I am still having connectivity problems with wifi hotspots that I cannot figure out. Whenever I am at my main job I have absolutely no problem connecting to the router and staying connected, however whenever I try and connect from my friend's house or even at my own house I receive a message about the wireless router being out of range, however I have used my desktop to connect with it wirelessly no problem in the past. In the instance where it does connect, it stays connected for roughly 3-5 minutes and then immediately drops out and I can't even view the network list anymore and have to restart. I've tried powerwashing but I'm contemplating rolling back if that's possible because I've heard that this error has occured because of a software update to the OS itself. Can anyone shed a light on this who may have experienced a similar problem? I really do not want to send this laptop back as I need it for work.
