Strong, strong +1 for showing "Laser Light Cannon" before "Gem Glow", and then going in order. If you're not hooked by the fantastic Sailor Moon-esque wonder at the end of "Laser Light Cannon", there's no hope for you. "Gem Glow", on the other hand, is mostly just Steven being annoying.
A couple pages back, but I definitely agree with this (I think I might've posted before about this). Laser Light Cannon introduces a lot of the main characters and the general "feel" of the show really well, and it doesn't have "annoying Steven" that some of the early episodes have; it's one of the things that sold me on the show and got me to keep watching until Connie showed up.

I'm just glad it didn't keep dragging out indefinitely. We were overdue for some progress to be made here.
It reminded me a bit of "Full Disclosure" and how the show dodged the expected "drag the misery out for five or six episodes" and went with a quicker resolution instead. On the one hand yeah it was kinda quick, but on the other hand I kinda hate dragging poo poo out like that, and it also means we get more :black101: Connie, and quicker too.

As such, I find the quicker resolution acceptable, more :black101: Connie is objectively good. I expects gifs from you people magic gif wizards from this episode of Connie being awesome.

What are people's thoughts on the whole 'Rose was actually Pink Diamond' theory that fans are tossing around? I feel like it's riding on a lot of assumptions,. We've seen that 4 diamond marker in the sky arena that shows a white, blue, yellow and pink diamond and we know Yellow diamond is a think, but that's really all the evidence of there being multiple diamonds at this point.

I'm kinda of two minds on it. On one hand I feel like it sort of devalues Steven a tad and sort of just turns him into a cliche ~Long lost Royalty~ thing, but on the other hand I kinda dig the idea that of a multiple Diamond ruling class thing.

I'd like to think the creators would be able to work around any sort of cliches, as they have already so it's entirely possible that we may see a multiple diamonds thing, but Rose is just that, Rose Quartz.

Also who should voice YD?
Of the various fan theories thrown around it kinda rings right to me, because there's simple and easy to follow logic to it:

The old arena, prior to the rebellion, with four colors.

The modern gem ship with three colors, and pink being the color that's conspicuously missing.

There's no huge leaps of logic needed, just a little logic of "Rose rebelled, so she/her color was removed following the rebellion". The theory had been around prior to "Sworn to the Sword", but it didn't really click as "right" for me until I saw the 4 colors behind the warp pad. Now Rose specifically being "Pink Diamond" and/or what that means is still up in the air for me, but the basic idea that the pink in the first image is related to Rose is definitely sound to me.

As to who should voice Yellow Diamond: Linda Young (aka pre-DBZ Kai Frieza). She did a great job of making Frieza creepy as all hell, the only problem is that Frieza was... a guy. Not a problem with Yellow Diamond.

Maybe she is just "Rose Quartz" ...the theory that she used to be called diamond only stems from the fact that a) Yellow Diamond exists and b) the pre-rebellion symbols are diamond-shaped, right? Well, now they're triangle-shaped:

So maybe it was something like the four leaders were called Rose Quartz, Yellow Diamond, and Aquamarine & White Spinel or whatever.
"Pink Diamond" come from the confirmed name of "Yellow Diamond" and from Ronaldo talking about the "Diamond Authority". Ronaldo is... Ronaldo, so yeah Rose Quartz, Yellow Diamond, and Aquamarine & White Spinel is probably a better take/guess of what the actual names are.
