I know that it pissed Roddenberry off and the director was fired. I believe he went on to direct a really racist Stargate episode, too. But I may be making that up. I don't really remember.

I'm watching the pilot of TNG on Amazon. Do they use the blu-ray versions? It looks way nicer than I remember. Too bad the writing is still poo poo. (I also hate Brent Spiner, he is a terrible actor)
