TNG oscillated randomly between entertainingly awkward/corny/outright bad and good but the important thing is it was always entertaining I think DS9 was probably the better show though

I think that drat finale colored a lot of people's opinions of the show more negatively than is fair; it's a pretty good show but to be fair, it was a really lovely finale

1 and 2 are v questionable unless you enjoy watching bad and awkward scifi there are sprinklings of it further on but the overall quality really does noticeably improve after S2 What did they do different after S2 in terms of writing/production, anything?

Don't know if I'm prepared to say it's "good" or whatever, but it's a really memorable episode at least. All of the little self-encapsulated "I had this idea for a sci-fi story while I was high in college" episodes are at the very least interesting.

Yeah I remember them mentioning The Galactic Speed Limit like once, maybe 2 times after that episode. I mean it's kind of a given the Enterprise is going to constantly be in emergency situations where they need to use Warp 10 or whatever.
