The eternal fog, the eternal night. Something happened thirty years ago, although no one knows for sure. What is known, however, is that the sun hasn’t been seen since. Indeed, most of Great Britain - most of Europe! hasn’t been seen since, and what has been seen has been … different. You were born here, in the city they call Fallen London - some say its the only city left. Of Cogs and Gears Special Parts Loel fucked around with this message at 22:44 on Mar 28, 2015 |

This is an impulse thread that I’ll post in from time to time. I expect to post in it 1-2/week, with my primary focus remaining on Dark Heresy. This one is loosely based on the Fallen London game as well as gaslamp fantasy. I may toss some Monsterhearts in too, I’m not sure yet. I have no plans and no outline, just the sudden impulse to write about fog and fishmen.

B G L - Socialite K - Seeing the Sun again Emmeline Goulden Born to upper-middle class parents, Emmeline received a surprisingly good education and seemed set to live a comfortable life of leisure. All that changed the day the sun vanished. In the aftermath of the initial confusion Emmeline used her contacts and acquaintances to become one of the hot spots of London's upper class' social life, inviting scientists, clergy and nobles to her salon, to openly exchange ideas, knowledge and politics. At the center of it all is the ever charming and pleasant Emmeline, who is listening attentively, making introductions where necessary and keeping an invisible hand on the tiller of the conversation. Only when the last guest has left does the mask drop and the scarred girl emerges, who desires nothing more than to see the sun again before she dies.

Who are we? A Male How old are we? G Old, old. You remember what it was before. 30-39 What is our occupation? I Priest What drives us? K Something Else - The Bible is filled with examples of sinful trades: Esau sold his birthright for a bowl of lentils; Judas sold his Maker for thirty pieces of silver. How less sinful, then, was the sale of the City for the life of one called by God? Finally, what is our name? There is a name, written down in Church record books and known by a few very old parishoners, but in this Fallen time of darkness, most refer to him as The Haunted Vicar.

His secret is that Alexis is partly responsible for the fall. Maybe he was playing where he shouldn't, maybe he distracted his parents at just the wrong moment, or maybe he just wished really hard and something was listening. Whatever the actual circumstances, this is his fault.
