Tonight's Avispa Dorada's CMLL debut. She moved down there from Washington about a year ago and has been training with CMLL.

Staying healthy due to sheer coincidence.

I've met her! She's very nice and I've been waiting for her debut.

It's hall of fame season, and I keep hearing Fredo Esparza talk about how great Sangre Chicana was. What are the Sangre Chicana matches to watch to get a feel for his work?

I know very little about old lucha and have seen very little old lucha but this is the one everyone brings up first whenever I see his name is mentioned. it is a very badass match.

FWIW there was a set of the best lucha from the 80's a few years ago and this match was the overwhelming best match in the set of 100 matches

Hijo Del Santo did an interview where he said Bandido and Rush are two of the younger talents he sees a lot of promise in, but then said something stunning. When asked about a mask match with Atlantis, he said he would be up for it and it would be an honor to lose his mask to Atlantis, calling him a great man and a great wrestler. I don't think there's any chance of such a thing happening but for him to even say it is pretty wild.

He is wrestling now as Santo Jr. In the same interview his dad said he's accepted his son doesn't have to be the star he was and is OK if he doesn't carry on the name. He also says he thinks his son is more athletically gifted than he was.
