A full Las Tortugas match finally made it to Youtube. Been looking for some drat ninja turtles matches for a while. Anyone know of any more?

Or try this one - looks like the same match filmed from different locations.

This was fun as hell, stupidly dangerous, gory - just the most irresponsible fun. Loved the whole loving card. The Mayas beating the gently caress out of one another was something else.

I guess LA Park is running with the "Chinga tu madre" thing, only now he's getting the whole crowd to yell it for him, instead of saying it himself, like DX when they'd do the "we got two words for ya."

Ya think next year LA Park and Wagner are gonna be back in either CMLL or AAA?

Also: will they ever, ever get a big enough payday to do the mask match?

In that Mistico story, Dave casually refers to Rush as CMLL's biggest star. Is that accurate - he's bigger than Sombra or Atlantis?

Ever since I started watching, Sombra's seemed like the top dog to me, with Rush as his buddy and #2.

LOS INGOBERNABLES trios or parejas matches have become my obsession of late. I just love Sombra and Rush, and Marco ain't so bad either (Mascara is fine in trios, too, but I like Marco waaay more).

This is from earlier this month, but the entire INGOBERNABLES act from top to bottom is so enjoyable to watch. The way they act like they don't give a poo poo, the constant posing and cheating, the begging off, just every part of the act rules, even when the matches aren't that great.

And I can't believe I'm saying this, but Sombra is actually better without the mask. Facial reactions have taken his character up a notch to the point he's my favorite wrestler going right now.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RqNfZNzfWaA

Oh also, I hate incredibles matches, and this is filmed from the crowd, but the first move in this match has Sombra gently caress over his partner. The fact they don't even pay lip service to making this a legitimate match, and that Rush literally lays down and lets Sombra pin him for the final fall, made it enjoyable to me.

I am really glad I've gotten into lucha.

Caristico, being a portmanteau, is a stupid concept but it sounds fine to my ear. Either way, better than MISTIC 2.0.

And since the gobers are talking smack about Caristico, I guess that's gonna be the big feud soon. Or, most likely will be. You never know with lucha.

What's the deal with the proxies? I'll pay $6 to watch a Day of the Dead CMLL show.

They are showing it on Cleeng, seemingly a Mexico-based streaming service. They did a practice run a few days ago for free, and it worked. One would assume there will be no proxies needed, but it's lucha so you never can be quite sure.

I'm not well-versed in Lucha beyond what I've seen clips of here and there and LU, but anytime I've seen old-Mistico/Mysteziz/Caristico in action he's been super botchy, especially for a guy that's supposed to be a top draw. Is current-Mistico any good? Was the character that popular that it merited 3 different guys to play it at one point or another??

Fun flyer, though not the best one in CMLL, or anything like that. He's a solid guy who the crowd usually mercilessly boos. Don't know if he has a a heel run in him, but he's not even clicking on the level they're pushing him as a face - and they're not pushing him as hard as they used to.

And like Thauros said, it's not that the original CMLL Mistico was a big deal, he was THE big deal.

They associated him strongly with El Santo and pushed him harder than anybody else. It worked. I don't think people understand how huge he was. iirc he was flying all around Mexico and working as many as 10 shows a week. They finally started beating him and his star faded but he was the biggest wrestling star on the planet for a while there.

I think there were weeks where he was, without exaggeration, doing as many as 18 shows. Incredible.

Edit: Though Meltz revealing his nickname among some wrestlers is "Handles," because he needs to be carried, is like the funniest wrestling thing this year outside of Mr. Niebla's drunken Casita.

This was a good match; I enjoyed the dick kick and dick punch finish. I thought it was funny when Volador is carring Mistico out and picks up a beer then tosses it in Mistico's face. This is my first look at Los Ingobernables that everyone in the NJPW threads are wetting themselves over. Anyone want to share some links to matches I should watch?

Oh my, now it's Manflurry's time to shine.

Ok, so, the thing about CMLL, and you probably already know this, is the top acts work all the loving time in trios matches, so you are gonna get a poo poo ton of 6 mans that often have no storyline relevance. I'm fine with that, when it comes to the Gobers at least, because they are such a fun unit and Sombra's like a mid-90s Shawn Michaels in his mannerism and aloofness.

Los Ingobernables = La Sombra, Rush, Naito, Marco Corleone (you may or may not remember him as Mark Jindrak in another life), La Mascara, and (apparently) "King of Darkness" Evil.

So, if you want a great match, start at Sombra vs Atlantis hair vs hair https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LQUouo78KY

Here are a bunch of trios or parejas I have personally watched and range from watchable to very good.

it was mask vs mask, question: is the tombstomb piledriver banned in CMLL or did la Sombra lose a stip match where he can no longer use it or was it just the referee not wanting him to do it? Question, under their names on the graphics both where listed as tecnicos, where they both faces going in or does that mean something else?

Why in the world did I write hair vs hair? It was early....

And yeah, the Tombstone is definitely banned in CMLL. Maybe AAA, too? It's like one of the three major cheating ways to score a pin in CMLL - there's the mask pull (if the ref doesn't see you pull the mask, he doesn't DQ you, and the wrestler who had their mask pulled has to cover their face and take the pin to protect their identity), the low blow (almost always leads to a pin), and if you're real nasty, the DREADED MARTINETE usually leads to the opponent being carted out after the pin.

in this trios Dr. Wagner Jr. keeps trying to Too Sweet both Rush and la Sombra, and la Sombra breaks it up a few times but then does a triple Too Sweet later; what is up with that?

Wagner had just returned to CMLL (and, because he's Wagner, was gone like 2 weeks later, if that), so this was his first time teaming with LOS INGOBERNABLES, so they were kinda hesitant to get buddy-buddy with him. But eventually they relented, his old man heelishness melting their young punk hearts, and made for an awesome one-time-only trio.

No Luck Needed posted:

great dusty finish, good back and forth match; does anyone ever do 2/3 falls trios matches outside of Mexico?

Australia! :haw:

That... that's a joke because CMLL calls those sort of trios matches "Relevos Australianos" for reasons I've never seen explained.

There was a report from Japan from the owner of a wrestling store saying that Mistico was in terrible pain the entire Japanese tour, and at the 1/18 Korakuen Hall show (the second to last show), he was in tears backstage. The wrestlers from New Japan told him he needed to go to the hospital, but his seniors in CMLL told him he would be okay if he just drank heavily (that is something of a Mexican protocol in some circles).
