We could for the Juche group after we go into music and theater, or we can try going deep under cover by taking business or economics classes. The latter could help us figure out how to subvert the US economic system from the inside. For maximum hilarity we could try both, taking a third major in chemistry or nuclear engineering.

Each UC Berkeley College has a number of majors, with the College of Letters and Science having the most. The college that's chosen should determine which majors we get to choose from. Unless you can take majors from multiple colleges.

College of Letters and Science

The College of Letters and Science sets undergraduate students on the intellectual adventure of their lives with a vibrant, broad-based liberal arts education. You participate in projects at the forefront of science, solve pressing social problems, create art, explore diverse cultures, and seek answers to the biggest questions of our times.

The list of majors is long enough to deserve it's own post: http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?action=showpost&postid=444017120

College of Chemistry

The College of Chemistry offers fundamental knowledge of all fields of chemistry. There are lecture courses in the general areas of inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry, plus many more specialized courses including analytical, nuclear, and biophysical chemistry and chemical biology.

The majors include: b.s. chemistry, b.s. chemical engineering, b.s. chemical biology, and b.a. chemistry

College of Engineering

Berkeley Engineering is a national leader in engineering education, with students and researchers from around the world drawn to our department by its outstanding reputation, internationally recognized faculty, and tradition of impact in research and teaching. The College includes departments of Bioengineering; Civil & Environmental Engineering; Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences; Industrial Engineering & Operations Research; Materials Science & Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; and Nuclear Engineering.

The majors include: Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences, Energy Engineering, Engineering Math & Statistics, Engineering Physics, Environmental Engineering Science, Industrial Engineering & Operations Research, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering

College of Environmental Design

The College of Environmental Design undergraduate programs in architecture, landscape architecture, and urban studies combine general education with a broad introduction to the environmental design professions and emphasize the value that what we build must be ethically, socially, and ecologically appropriate. These programs equip students for work in these and related fields, or graduate study, or both.

Majors include: Architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture, and sustainable environmental design

College of Natural Resources

The College of Natural Resources addresses biological, social, and economic challenges associated with protecting natural resources and the environment. CNR's undergraduate academic programs teach students how to ensure economic and ecological sustainability for future generations.

CNR offers majors in these categories: Genetics & Plant Biology (GPB), Microbial Biology (MB), Molecular Environmental Biology (MEB), Nutritional Sciences & Toxicology (NS), Conservation and Resource Studies (CRS), Environmental Sciences (ES), Forestry & Natural Resources (FNR), Environmental Economics And Policy (EEP), Society & Environement (S&E)

Haas School of Business

Business Administration is only available to junior transfer applicants; freshman applicants may apply to the College of Letters and Science, Undeclared--Pre-Business Administration. Students who earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the Haas School of Business Undergraduate Program possess the knowledge and technical skills necessary to understand the modern business world, to achieve the highest levels of success in their professional careers, and to prepare for subsequent graduate work.

There is only the one Business Administration major.

Pre-Med

Berkeley offers excellent undergraduate preparation for medical and other health-related professional schools and sends an impressive number of students on to these graduate programs each year. Cal, like most universities, does not offer a specific “pre-med” major. Few colleges in the United States do, because there is no specific major required for admission to medical or other health-related schools. All students obtain a bachelor’s degree before admission to medical school. For students seeking admission to dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, and other health-related graduate programs, many have received a bachelor’s degree prior to admission.

There isn't so much a major as much as it's a course to become a doctor.

Pre-Law

Berkeley offers an excellent undergraduate education in a wide variety of majors that prepare you for entry into law school. Like most universities and colleges in the United States, Berkeley does not offer a major specifically called “pre-law” because law schools do not require any specific major for admission. Most law schools require a bachelor’s degree, the Law School Admission Test (LSAT), strong letters of recommendation, and a compelling personal statement for admission.

There isn't so much a major as much as it's a course to become a lawyer.

The second reason North Korea wants to access the internet is hacking. The country has aggressively grown its cyberwar divisions in recent years into a few thousand highly trained hackers.

"California. You will be a foreign exchange student going to a university known as Berkeley. Given your aptitude in the military you are enrolled at the Engineering college there. Anything you study there is immensely useful, but fortune would favor you if you studied Nuclear engineering for the glory of your mother country. You will be given the german name of Wolf Blitzer, and don't worry about not knowing too much about German culture, they are dumb pigs and probably won't notice anyway. Now play your drat haki sak and start catching up on the detestable american culture."

You kept mostly busy with your studies, but July was a somber period. President Kim Il Sung died, his son immediately taking command as Dear Leader. While his presidency will be forever Eternal, mourning must eventually end and duties are to return. Is there anything you wish to do before leaving?

Mourning songs are appropriate.

Fortunately your smuggling into the Pigsty of a country went fairly well enough. Your handlers were worried about being late, so your travel started several weeks earlier than noted. What this does mean for you is that you have a few weeks to kill before classes start. For the first time in, well, ever, you do not have someone watching your every move. You have...freedom? How odd. You were able to move into campus early so you have room and minimal board. You will get a small stipend every month from your handlers, but you may want to get a part time job either on or off campus to make some "dough" as the fat american pigs call it. You made some small introductions with other early students, but don't know many quite well.

What do you wish to do?
A. Hit the library! Get cracking on my edumacation!
B. Find a job, ya bum!
C. Just go and explore Berkeley. What else is there to offer around here?
D. Some of the other students mentioned going to something in the ... desert? Sounds odd, but I would like to get a closer look at the culture I'm to emulate, and tagging along with a bunch of students seems like a sure bet!
E. Something else.
