So out of curiosity how far does the calendar in Shenmue actually go? Like if you actually had to do that birthday event before a certain day but missed it, could you just do nothing every day and wait until you get to March 3rd next year?

Since there's no other stat for it, I would assume Guts is like intelligence or something and determines if the duck can navigate barrels and if it's going to crash into walls.
