6 of 8 cups are now gold in the 50CC. gave 200cc a try and i am poo poo. oh well, I can improve.
NES remix still awesome.

Donkey Kong Country Returns is just more platforming win and the soundtrack is awesome.
Tried a Kirby game (special offer SNES one) it is awesome.

at the moment it is 2D. stuff from SMB1, SMB3, SMW and NSMB.
but apparently there are plans for more modes. so maybe.

Yeah, all 2D, but 3D levels in the same fashion is Super Mario 3D World would be really amazing. Maybe something as DLC or a sequel.

I feel like that would be way harder to make fun, since 2D stuff will all be straightforward sprite stamping and what not. Adding that third layer of geometry seems like it could be overwhelming

I think the way to do it would be to break the geometry up into small blocks and then you place one block at a time. Similar idea to the Starcraft 2 editor.

trying to play mario gaklaxy.

the second hand disc is scracthed somewhere so it errors now and then.

however, the camera is taking a long while to get used to, and the controls feel weird using the remote/nunchuck. i hope i get used to it. currently, not sure i like a 3d mario so much compared to the 2d platforming

Galaxy's more about precision and timing than momentum the way the 2-D Marios are. It's why there's no run button. The game as a whole is a lot slower, but once you get it you'll realize how precise and fluid everything is.
