Satriani isn't even that good for this kind of goofball guitar player. I know he taught some other people, but his own stuff is boring as hell, Surfing With the Alien excluded. Once you learn to do that pinch-harmonic trem-bar raise thing it stops being impressive, and he does it in every song. The rest of the clip is just stock pentatonic blues patterns

It's the same with the majority of those really old GoonCon pictures. It's mostly just people standing around, maybe a little more overweight and a little less attractive than the general population, but honestly not by much. I just shrug when I see them. All the people vomiting in idiosyncratic ways are the exception, of course.

Yeah, you know how Blackbeard used to put lit fuses in his beard to intimidate people? Lots of pirates would keep bats under their hats and let them fly out for dramatic effect. That's also the origin of the term "batter", which is what they called the clubs you'd use to get the bats out.
