Well initial impressions of the Fossil Gen 5 are that it's much nicer than my Zenwatch ever was. I also like the Fossil faces which yeah, I really would hope a watch company could have some decent faces of their own. The biggest problem is that I got the dark grey steel color, which came with a steel bracelet that's comically large on my wrist. I tried to use a safety pin to resize it but the safety pin just bent and I don't think it pushed the link pin out at all. Fossil does resizing in store for free so I'm going to kill an afternoon heading to the mall, I guess. I ordered a silicone strap (not from Fossil) but it hasn't arrived yet.

I didn't leave my house super often before the plague and I certainly don't now, so I'm not too concerned about excess wear on it, but what do you mean by the charging ring causing them to fall apart? Like rough handling from the slapping the charger on?

So I had the same issue with the steel band and happened to have this kit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0189YWOIO

Which worked perfectly for popping out the pins and adjusting the band size.

I bought two other bands too and use the silicone one most often.

The charging ring issue is that they start to bulge out from the bottom of the watch on the back, but I haven't had that issue. I'm very satisfied with the Gen 5.

Fingers crossed for some mind-blowing new WearOS device from CES tomorrow, or I'm doing the Best Buy trade in on my fossil gen 5 and picking up a Samsung 6 classic.

I've got my eyes on the Samsung 47mm Watch 6 Classic. If anyone catches wind of a sub $300 deal, please share!

I did the Fossil Gen 5 trade in at Best Buy so I have $115 credit there, but I couldn't talk them into price matching a random reseller on Walmart.com or Amazon. I'm hoping this watch will go on sale sometime within the next couple of months.

Naked wrist is weird.

re: OnePlus Watch 2 announced at MWC

I am stupid and ordered one.

My OP2 has been awesome so far, by the way. I rarely see it drop below 90% after a full day's usage with HR and a good 30min-1hr workout.

Exactly what I wanted in a new WearOS watch.

Really need to replace my garbage Fossil Collider watch and am looking at the OP Watch 2. Anyone NOT like theirs, and does OP have a sale coming up that I should wait for? I'm looking to buy a OP12 phone as well so if I can save on both that'd be ideal.

I have absolutely been satisfied with my OP Watch 2. It's nearly 3PM here and it is at 94% battery.

First time smartwatch shopper here. Prime Day has some very nice discounts and I'm looking at these 3: Pixel Watch 2 for $269, OnePlus Watch 2 for $210, and Galaxy Watch 6 for $160. I am a Pixel user and the Pixel watch seems like the obvious choice, but it's significantly more expensive than the other two which also have a lot of positive reviews.

The OnePlus Watch 2 looks very nice but unfortunately it also looks very chunky. The Galaxy Watch 6 is a great deal at $160 and the hardware and performance seem excellent, but I'm not sure how well Samsung watches play with non-Samsung phones.

If the Pixel Watch 2 is a much better experience and much less noticeable for daily use then I will spend the extra money, but the other two options are significantly less expensive. Any testimonials or advice to offer me?

OnePlus Watch 2 has been fantastic for me. I came from a Fossil Carlysle Gen 5 which I liked a lot. Size seems comparable to me. Battery seems like it could last a week if needed but I've never stress tested that.

Before the OW2 was announced, I was waiting for a deal on the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Very happy I didn't go that route.

I don't like the look of the Pixel watches. I am also a Pixel user.

people with the OnePlus Watch 2: how is the health and activity tracking? accuracy, details, etc. I use a Venu 3 right now. I really like a lot of things about Wear OS on the pixel watch 2 but I just hate how tiny it is and how short the battery life is.

I don't use any of the ohealth stuff for exercises and have most of the features disabled where possible. I use Google fit for tracking workouts and that works just like it did on my Fossil. I feel like the heart rate is accurate but not something I've benchmarked.

Anyone get some aftermarket bands for the OnePlus Watch 2 that they like?

Why use my (excellent OnePlus Watch 2) smart watch to pay for things when my giant smartphone is right there in its leather hip holster?

Are there smartwatch options with a week plus of battery and the ability to pay through NFC that are worth considering, outside of the Garmin offerings I'm familiar with?

Check out OnePlus. They are up to the 3 now I think. I can easily get several days on the Watch 2. I think you could get a week if you turned off some stuff.
