I bought the watch. Those assholes suckered me into getting the new buds too. Although the Buds Pro constantly fall out of my ears so maybe these new ones will be better! ![]()

Does anyone know if I cancel my preorder and place it again to get a different type of watch will I get the offer for the $50 off an accessory again? I kinda want to upgrade to the LTE version but I won't bother if I lose the $50 coupon.

I saw in particular the LTE version of the watch sold more than expected and supplies ran out. Mine still says "will ship week of aug 25, 2021" in the app but i just check on the website and yeah, delayed 9/17. I preordered mine literally as soon as they were available too so it's not like there's any sort of order to it.

You guys convinced me to cancel and re-order a non lte model lol. If I kept my original order I would've had it by now. Now I have to wait until October ![]()

bull3964 posted:Well, I mean, it's just that I would never use the functionality. My phone is always with me. Same. I am sure there are people who would get use out of having the LTE model but I've always got my phone and it's almost never out of juice so it's cool but super unnecessary for me.

Goddamn I wish mine wasn't delayed until friggin October, I already gave up wearing my Amazfit lol

I just realized today that I can go down to Best Buy and walk out with a watch instead of waiting for mine to ship in October from Samsung directly lol Edit: watch is good! Edit 2: I think the strap I had on my old watch is just ever so slightly too wide to fit in the space. The standard rubber strap on this thing is pretty bad, it feels like the parts closest to the watch face bow out too much if that makes sense. explosivo fucked around with this message at 23:16 on Sep 2, 2021 |

If I bought a new wireless charging pad for my phone should it also charge the watch? I notice the one I have for my phone doesn't work on the watch but I can powershare to the watch from my phone so I assume I just have an old charging pad or something?

I got my new band in today and it makes the watch fit so much better when the bands can swing straight down instead of bowing out at the sides like the standard one does. Looks nice on the ol wrist too! Edit: I will say that after a day using the computer with the watch on and the new strap that the stock rubber strap is way more comfortable to use as a computer toucher which kinda has me reconsidering using the new one all the time. explosivo fucked around with this message at 23:32 on Sep 6, 2021 |

Hey dumb question but I'm trading in my Watch 4 for a 6 Classic and decided on a whim to bump up to the 47mm from the 44mm. I'm a big dude and think I have fairly large sized hands but it's kind of hard finding side by side comparisons of what these sizes look like on a wrist. Is 47mm too big? I can't say that I've ever thought that my watch was too small but I really have no idea if I'll get this thing and a difference of 3mm means it'll be like ridiculously, comically oversized or just slightly larger.

Thanks, 1.5mm on each side doesn't sound like a lot but I have no idea what to expect haha. That 46 looks fine though so I'm sure this will also be fine. I want a watch that looks more like a watch and less like a fitbit and I think upgrading to the larger classic will probably do that for me. ![]()

Oh hey, look at what inexplicably came in the mail today![]() Definitely glad I went with this size, there really isn't much of a difference from my old one. It's thicker and for sure weightier but I like how it feels on the wrist. Edit: Not sure if this is new for the 6 but holy poo poo the pins for attaching wrist bands to this is a thousand times easier than how it was on the 4. explosivo fucked around with this message at 23:20 on Aug 7, 2023 |

I've been running one of those Matteo Dini watch faces on the new watch (specifically MD307), and I'm not sure if it's directly related but my battery life on the 6 Classic has been fluctuating wildly since I started wearing it. The battery use chart only attributed less than 1% of the drain to that watch face app, seems like mostly it was the always on display, but one day the "google play services" were going nuts which I think did most of the damage. I had the always on display on my 4 and could usually get two days out of a charge so i dunno. I've switched that watch face out for a stock one for the time being just to see if it goes away.

Shout out to the included "Info Brick" watch face, I don't remember seeing this on my watch 4 so I used Digital Dashboard so maybe it's new but I really like the look of Info Brick and the complications/colors are very customizable.

Fwiw that Pujie app offers a one time $3 iap to access the library for life, I think it said it was a limited offer maybe? It sucks but I found a bunch of good faces on there already so eh.

Man why do Samsung's official watch faces suck so much compared to the stuff on Pujie? I saw the "Featured watch faces" new for Wear 6.0 they have a banner for in the wearables app and they're all poo poo! There's just so many plain analog clocks over weird shapes and plain digital clocks.

I gave up on ever using Google wallet from my watch because I just hate the idea of having a pin entry on my watch
|
![]() |

Oh, huh. I guess I had that bug then because I tried it once and had to enter my PIN again after putting it in when I woke up and immediately said nope and never went back, haha. Maybe I'll have to give it another shot.

I work in the payment industry and it is really, really common but for me it's still more consistent and less of a hassle to grab my wallet and slap my credit card on it instead. If you have a purse or are wearing gloves and can't get your card out easily I totally get it.

I ordered a pixel watch 3 today to complete my samsung > google transformation, doing a trade-in to recoup some cost from my current watch. The galaxy watch has been pissing me off lately so I'm looking forward to jumping ship.

CLAM DOWN posted:it's funny, I've been considering switching to Samsung from Pixel primarily due to the Ultra watch. I have the 6 Classic and it's fine but feels sluggish and the spinny bezel sucks. I probably wouldn't have even thought about doing it if I hadn't just switched to a Pixel 9 though.

I put an (official google) band on my pixel watch and I think it's broken or something to the point where I can't remove the one side of the band anymore. Like the locking mechanism that connects to the watch can slide back and forth in the slot and it doesn't feel like it's going to disconnect, but I can push the release button and slide it over and it just doesn't come off. Not sure if I'm just doing something wrong but it sure feels like it's stuck on there.

CaptainSarcastic posted:I found the band-release method super fucky when I put the official leather band on my Pixel Watch 2, and am glad that now I have normal grommets. That said, are you sure it's actually fully seated in the watch? It sounds like you're describing some side-to-side play in the band which I'm pretty sure is not supposed to happen. Problem is no I don't think it is fully seated in the watch because I can slide it all the way to one side towards the release button or slide it back into the "normal wearing" position and at no point do I seem to be able to jimmy it out of the track to get it out. The release button seems to pop all the way up like it's supposed to when the band is back into the locked position but I can still move the band in the track back and forth. I was trying to move it into the spot where I presume it should be able to come out and gently pry it a bit to see if it would pop out but I'm worried about breaking something at this point. Thankfully I like the band I guess?

What are the odds that Google gives me a refund for that watch band I bought? I managed to get it off the watch but I literally had to pry it off. Thankfully the watch was undamaged so I was able to put a different band on and have it seat properly. Throughout this process I have become pretty proficient with putting these on and taking them off so I know I wasn't just doing something wrong, it was wedged in there without anything ever "clicking" and the was no amount of back and forth wiggling I could do to get it to fully seat in there. So it's off now and I have the standard band back on but I kinda hate this band but the woven one was $50 :-\ Edit: guh, looks like I can only return stuff to them undamaged. Well that sucks. edit 2: oh I got someone in support and looks like they're setting me up with a return. explosivo fucked around with this message at 14:01 on Apr 12, 2025 |
