Raptor is obvious, but I've never heard of the prefix "nup" before and I wonder if there's meaning anywhere. There are other characters whose naming puzzle me but we haven't formally met them yet. The majority of the cast apparently received various name changes as the script developed - Nupraptor's apparently stayed the same if the earlier scripts are any indication. It doesn't seem to mean anything, there's only an handful that could be said to have any meaning other than just weird fantasy names. Mortanius is one - Mort = death, etc.
