Like how do you make a good character and stuff Don't worry too much about party-wide skills, since there are characters that specialize in all of them that you can pick up. Trade is a useful skill for the early game, since it's one of the best ways to make money early on. Crossbows are best for fighting on foot, javelins for fighting on horse, and bows are about equally good for either. Lances are ineffective on foot, short weapons are ineffective on horseback.
