I only watched 1 and 2, so in my experience the franchise ends there e: I am watching this movie tomorrow. I am excited!

Movie was cool and a lot of fun. Pretty much nonstop action but I never got tired of it. I especially liked seeing all the crazy mutations people had.

The first Mad Max film is cool but it's very much a product of its time and owes more to US road movies like Vanishing Point given a coat of Aussie 'everything poo poo mate'.

Salvation had one good scene when Christian Bale crashes the helicopter and suddenly the severed upper torso of a Terminator grabs him and just tosses him around like a ragdoll. Those ten seconds more than anything in 3, Salvation or Sarah Connor Chronicles were utterly convincing that yeah Terminators were actually cool as poo poo and super-dangerous. Even if their main mode of attack seems to be 'grab this human and throw him at a handy wall' instead of 'grab this human and crush his loving bones'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0xjc_OSJms I guess after this scene they fired whoever was on sound-mixing because nothing else in the film sounds nearly as cool.

Listening to the Mad Max 2 commentary now, George Miller has a very relaxing voice and they're try to remember if they made Mel Gibson eat actual dog food or not.

This movie was a lot like what people seem to think the Mad Max films were like all along. It was really fuckin good though, I might have to see it again when I'm not sitting 3 feet from the screen.

Only thing I didn't care for were the couple of instances of that dumb thing they do for 3D movies where something flies toward the camera like it's coming out at you. I saw it with my sister and she apparently didn't like it, but also hadn't seen any of the other movies in entirety so I'm not entirely sure what she was expecting.

Given the massive potential for Fury Road to be terrible (especially when I did not think much of the early trailers), it came as a massive relief to see how good it actually was. Now waiting for the spin-off in which Furiosa and the Wives start a club and sit around doing cute things.
