 All our efforts are focused on one little city on the Black Sea.  A miscalculation on the Soviet side has put us in a great position north of the Chernaya River. They tried to break our weak center, but we kept the focus on our objectives and now stand to clean up. Axis Turn 5: June 11, 1942 Clear(dry)  We want to take Bartanevka quickly to avoid naval bombardment. It does not take us long.  We've captured most of the escape routes over the Chernaya and can likely cut off and eliminate all enemy units north of Sevastopol.  Balaklava is looking to be a harder target than expected. With our control of the roads, we may be able to push through the gap to get to Sevastopol proper.  Die kleinen Stichel get their revenge by delivering the death blow to the T-34 unit. Allied Turn 5: June 11, 1942  The heavy guns eliminate one of our auxiliary air defense units. Those units weren't really useful to us, but this does give the enemy a bit more space while retreating. Axis Turn 6: June 12, 1942 Clear(dry)  There will be no retreat for those units. The pocket is closed off as we knock out the T-70 here.  We're starting to scout Sevastopol now, and we find that the north end actually has fewer air defense guns than expected. The corner at Nikoaevka looks to be difficult to get around. Allied Turn 6: June 12, 1942  Soviet guns continue to single out the Stugs. Axis Turn 7: June 13, 1942 Overcast(dry)  While Balaklava isn't totally under our control, we've reduced it to forces that aren't really able to do much to stop our advance (aside from the gun emplacements).  The northern set of forces are ready to swing southward. We haven't quite cleaned up the pocket, but we can get to the bridges without any interference. Allied Turn 7: June 13, 1942  Mostly, the defenders of the city seem to be pulling back to dig in. The guns continue to go after our mobile artillery. Axis Turn 8: June 14, 1942 Overcast(dry)  Many of the weak front-line units simply shatter as our tanks push through the outskirts of Sevastopol.  We seize control of the north end of Sevastopol, including one of the only airfields open to the few remaining Russian planes. Allied Turn 8: June 14, 1942  In several places the infantry fill in the gaps of the defense. The artillery opens up on our tanks and several Panzer IV's are blasted into pieces. Axis Turn 9: June 15, 1942 Raining(dry) Just as soon as we seem to gain clear control of the skies, the weather darkens as a storm comes in from the Black Sea.  We grind away at the flak guns, and spend a the day positioning for another assault once the rain lets up. Allied Turn 9: June 15, 1942  Anti-tank guns are set up on nearly every street corner. But it doesn't appear that there are many artillery guns (at least on the north side). The rain isn't likely to dampen our offensive by much, and we expect it will not last long. And at this point, neither will Sevastopol.  Voting is still open for the next one-off scenario. I'll decide it by the time the next (and last) update for Sevastopol is posted.
