Beyond the Mind's Eye. Basically a showcase of late 80's early 90's CGI put together to some rockin' synthetic keyboard tracks. I had a VHS of this when I was like 8, can't remember how many times I watched it:

You may notice that some of this is repurposed CGI from the Lawnmower man

"Beyond The Mind's Eye" was the second in the series. The first was, of course, called "The Mind's Eye". It is pretty cool to compare the entire series and see how far we had advanced between each one.

Basically all of them were compilations of images used in film, advertising, and demos, set to music. No storyline, just CGI and music to look at it by.

Hello! I see you.

I have no idea what it is with Iron Maiden and lovely CG artwork, I mean I love Maiden and all but they've had that kind of poo poo in several videos and even on an album cover at one point:

The artist showed this image to the band as an unfinished prototype of the album art, but they (I assume mainly Steve Harris) actually loved it and it ended up as the official cover. Naturally, the artist was horrified and got his name removed from the album credits.

edit: video for the lead single from this album:

I can't find too many videos for the actual QuestWorld portions of the Real Adventures of Johnny Quest but I was on deployment recently and someones mother sent a whole box of DVDs and one of them was a Real Adventures screener copy.

The intro was awesome but actual QuestWorld was just awful. It made me appreciate The Venture Bros that much more though.

The first one reminded me a lot of a video I can't find. It was music made entirely from falling and bouncing objects, e.g. a ball or several balls would drop into the scene and bounce of an upright object, then to another, and so on, each object making a noise as it did.

Styro the dog is quite well stylised for the time. It's actually visually fun, like a cartoon, which is quite impressive of the time (93 to 96 I'm told).

I wonder how many hundreds of dollars it would have cost to fix the camera moving through solid objects.

Edit: Looks like the Fire and One Love videos were done by the same people.

I'd like to think that the Prodigy's videos were made by someone's mate with a jangly copy of 3d Studio.

There's a PSN port for it that's actually not too terrible, but don't try using the analog sticks. I've actually talked to a few people who worked on the first game and they said they wanted about three times as many cutscenes, but they couldn't figure a way to do that many with the budget and disk space issues

Jesus Christ, I avoided Star Wars cos I hadn't realised the remakes were pre 2000. Jabba is even worse than I remember. He looks like something out of Doom 3.

Edit: I'm blown away by how terrible this is. There was a live actor there, so why does it still look like Han it's starring into space? Why is Han always standing so close to Jabba? Why is Han gesturing outside Jabba's field of vision. And treading on his tail? Jeeeesus.
