Man, I'm on episode 5 and I'm really waffling on if Mr Robot is all in Eliots head or not. Near the end of the episode Darlene seems to have a direct back and forth face to face conversation with Mr Robot that seems like it couldn't be explained away as her just talking to the group. Yeah the entire end of episode 5 definitely suggests Mr Robot is a real person. This show really deals in extremely evil antagonists though, both Vera and Tyrrell are so disgustingly bad it's almost cartoonish. I don't know what happens in episode 8, but after Tyrrell straight up murders the CTOs wife in episode 7 I find it hard to see him as a redeemable character.

Tyrell is acting different because he's finally acting with a purpose, he's not scrambling to try to get to the top of E-Corp ladder anymore. He's found purpose in Phase 2 whatever it is and it shows in the changes in his character.

I always thought Leon killing those dudes was part of Elliot's delusion. The way he killed them in that scene presented him like some kind of mystical ninja saving Elliot's life and was actually the first hint at things not being quite real in the prison if I recall correctly.

The scene where Tyrell shoots Elliot is really well acted by the actor too. You can read the anguish on his face as he realizes this man he loves is falling into his paranoia and illness and he knows deep down he probably won't be able to talk him out of it.

There was some really lame stuff in this premiere. That narrated walk along the sidewalk felt just so clumsy, it definitely feels like the writing is going downhill.

I really love the soft apocalypse aesthetic of this show, nothing I've ever seen really presents a world like this so well. This episode was an especially good example of it.
