I'm pretty bored with House Tyrell to be honest, though the wife is hot. I did enjoy the scene with the new boss of EvilCorp though. The way it was shot was just awesome.

Maybe saying that the data is encrypted is just a measure to have some leverage down the road, whether or not it's legitimate leverage, in that fsociety could say "do [X] and we'll decrypt" or some poo poo. There could be information in the data that could be used for other things. We clearly haven't seen the end game yet, so who knows. Who cares, really? This a Great Show and I can't wait until S2. Also, my girlfriend called it that Darlene is Elliot's sister the moment she was on screen for the first time. She said "they look too much alike, she has to be his Sis". I love time travel and all but I already have 12 Monkeys. I guess true parallel universes are cool but I can always rewatch Fringe to see what happens when someone tries to "undo" the current universe. And then there's Lost of course and also The Leftovers. I guess what I'm saying is that I'd really like for Mr Robot to be something more than the above and so far it has been and I will be disappointed if it's a rehash of one or more of them. Having said that it is really well filmed and acted so I'm in it 'til the end regardless.

My 16 year old son's theory: Elliot is the first (or maybe 2nd after White Rose) self aware AI, Christian Slater is his creator and their world is a simulation. When Slater appears it's either the AI programming going haywire or Slater is literally ssh'ing into Elliot. Elliot being a literal robot or human with an AI chip doesn't work because he presumably would have had brain scans and tests done, what with his mental illness and all, and someone would have noticed.

His theory started going off the rails at that point but I do like his idea of Elliot and White Rose being self aware AI.

The theory of a quantum computer breaking e-coin is a cool idea but I think while if it is a part of the plan, it isn't the end goal. I think Angela literally cried when White Rose showed her whatever it was that White Rose revealed. This last episode Angela asked Irving if White Rose showed "it" to him, and Irving seemed to have almost a solemn tone when he answered "yes". It's gotta be something pretty profound and beyond just crashing all markets and creating a single currency to get those sort of reactions. Maybe some sort of parallel reality hacking machine. That's my crackpot theory for the day.
