Toxic Fart Syndrome posted:Also money? That`s part of it, certainly. Milch wanted to put production on hold while he worked on John from Cincinnati (remember that piece of poo poo?). HBO didn`t want to keep paying the cast to sit on their asses for an indefinite period, so it was agreed to shut down production completely and then pick up Deadwood as a couple of tv movies at some point in the future once Milch regained interest. Milch keeps talking about the tv movies in interviews even now, but I think that`s only because people keep asking, I don`t think he really gives a poo poo.

Kill Dozed posted:I was wondering about this. When the one guest says going evil was "the best two weeks of his life," does that mean he left the park and came back each day? Or did he actually stay in the park for those two weeks? Also, the bank robbery being an excuse to remove some robots only makes sense if the park doesn't close. Otherwise, they would just switch them out during off-hours. The man in black spent all night out in the desert and nobody seemed to give a poo poo, so I doubt the guests have to leave.

Zaphod42 posted:Also I was saying to a friend of mine that Westworld reminds me of Jurassic Park and apparently the original movie was written by John Crichton? Of course it was. Michael Crichton wrote Jurassic Park and Westworld. John Crichton was an astronaut who got shot through a wormhole.

R-Type posted:JJ "Bumhand" Abrams affiliation is the singular concern I have with this show. I know he's mostly a concept guy and a mangler of preexisting IP, but I hate what Lost evolved to and he was affixed to that empty hole of a series. He's not the show-runner, he's just a name on the credits. Jonathan Nolan is the show-runner and he didn't pull any Lost bullshit on Person of Interest, which also had Abrams name on it, so I doubt he's going to here.
