I've been an EMT for about a year- I was originally planning on going and becoming a paramedic and then becoming a PA when I started feeling like I was too old for that poo poo, but as much as I love EMS the pay and general way a lot of the commercial EMS stuff is run is having me thinking of skipping that middle step and doing PA school sooner rather than later.

Has anyone been through the process of becoming a PA/worked as one? What's the job like in terms of hours/stress/pay? How much freedom do you have in terms of clinical decisions? Any schools that are worth checking out?
