There was already a little bit of that, as resources moved between warehouses instantly. I'm partially with you, though, but it does make managing some products much much less of a hassle to be efficient, space-wise. I'm personally reserving my judgement.

Well, from the people talking in the stream it aounds like they're going ahead with the midnight Europe release time... hope to be suprised when I get home.

Brutakas posted:The reddit thread in the OP mentioned that resources are now instantly abstracted rather than needing to be physically transported. Doesn't that remove the incentive to group buildings that are part of the same production chain? Not having to think about where you place buildings might be a little too streamlined for my taste. While they are abstracted, there's a logistical cost now so inefficiently grouped buildings will cost more to maintain in power and I suppose in money? So I think it's more or less the same in spirit just easier to put a hard number to.

There's no way to say this without coming off like a bit of a dick, but it's meant as a genuine statement...There's such a terrible glut of absolute garbage games that I actually make it a point to pay full price for genuinely good content now that I have the disposable income available.

The bluer it is the more efficient it is. You can build logistic centers along roads to boost that. I guess they function as warehouses.

I would have preferred semi-regular supply shits and/or mass drivers for moving stuff between space and the planetary zones because it gives you an incentive to be efficient and plan ahead. Global warehouses are weird when the entire premise of the game is logistics.

Oh, hey, the game actually tells you, in game, how many units of resources a building creates and uses. So for example, the Vita-drink factory takes 16 units of fruit to produce 12 units of Vita-drink, while the Plantation produces 8 units of fruit. So 2 plantations per Vita-Drink plant.

2070 had the problem in spades because there was so many ways you could get items that affect production and energy use globally or on an island-wide basis. 2205 seems to have the same issue of so many ways to upgrade factories and such, but they realized it was an issue this time so they now tell you how much a factory produces.

I bought it on GMG, but I guess they don't send a key until the game releases. What are the chances I'll get it right at 3pm today?

I am in the same boat. I have done several prepurchases with them and they have always come through. Also, review embargo is lifted. Generally positive in the first handful. http://opencritic.com/#!game/1744/anno-2205

I'm on the fence. I generally like the Anno games, But $60 is kinda high with Fallout 4 and battlefront releasing over the next few weeks as well. I'm still gonna buy it aren't I?

Pricing games like we're back in the 90s again became a trend a few years ago, fortunately I don't buy as many as I used to. That said, the game is $69.99 for me, which works out to ~$54USD thanks to our hosed up economy. Hopefully I get charged before the markets go back up.

Even if you only play it a few days and then over a weekend, the amount of money you've paid per hour of entertainment is less than if you had gone out to dinner and watched a movie a couple of times. Which, okay, you may not do anyway but it's certainly not exorbitant. So don't feel bad about buying it.

If 2205 is anything like 2070, I will sink an ungodly amount of time into it, but £60 is a lot to drop on a game and I felt much the same way about Beyond Earth which was a massive letdown. Think I'll wait till till the price comes down, or make it a Christmas present request.

I assume gold will jump up to £65 because that price is currently crossed out and I think thats what it will default to when its released (could be wrong though). So yeah as I said, ANNO is love and life and all that but I'm not sinking that much into it.

GMG with the code SAVE20-NOVEMB-GAMING costs £40. Better than nothing, but its almost certainly not Gold so if you're interested you'll probably have to shell out for the inevitable DLC down the line.
