I want to make a quick plug for Revengeance ITT. It's not a stealth game like the typical Metal Gear game, but, rather, an action title developed by Platinum Games (makers of such fine games as Bayonetta, Vanquish, and The Wonderful 101). It takes place in the MGS timeline after MGS4 and focuses entirely on Raiden (the main character of MGS2) and his war against an evil group known as Desperado. The game, while short, features a hype soundtrack and some truly satisfying boss fights. My personal favorite part of the fights is when the bosses enter their "second form" or whatever you'd like to call it, lyrics come in for the song. It really punches it up a bit. It is not essential at all to the upcoming GOTY The Phantom Pain, but if you complete your MGS July games and want to give a game with some different pacing a shot, check it out! Just so you know guys I had a lot of trouble emulating MGS2 and MGS3 is apparently even less cooperative with PSCX2 or whatever it's called. I think 2 was running fine until right before the Fatman fight and it glitched out in a way that made it impossible to continue.. as a side note, these are the best games of all time.

For this, my fourth MGS3 play through, I'm going to do the semi-secret or weird boss kills as much as I can (the Fear fake death, setting the system clock forward to kill the End, etc.)

I got up to the fear when I played mgs3 back on ps2, and then just played online and never beat it. Now Im at the part where I can kill The End early but im not going to because I want to have a sniper battle even though aiming is dogshit in the game. I guess I'll wait a week to get back to it though for simulplay july

Its cool how I remember all the MGS games having really bad controls but after playing ground zeroes it has some of the best action controls ever and TPP is going to be such a pleasure to play

And I think people exaggerate how "bad" the controls are, they're just different and by the time they added first person aiming in MGS2 they were totally fine. The games were always designed with control limitations in mind so it was never much of an issue.
