I've been working this job since April but apparently I have to have an annual performance appraisal. Here is a passage of my appraisal: "He managed to obtain a university qualification with little effort. While he may be able to deliver what is required he should be encouraged to go that extra mile". If you are doing more than coasting then you are quite simply doing too much. "...he doesn't drink coffee..." And I enjoy a much happier life. "...an irate customer, [moo cow] simply and forcibly closed the door on [the customer] without acknowledging [the customer]...it is recommended that he stay at his current position until he completes [some bullshit course about speaking to assholes]"  "he is new to the position...therefore for these reasons I am not recommended [moo cow] for a [pay raise]...to be reviewed in 12 months" gently caress You

I got a marginal pay-raise on the order of 2-3% so I called a recruiter that day, and I'm currently a final round candidate for a new position that will be a 50% payraise at the minimum. Should hear back this week.
