I had to learn Japanese for two years in primary school, so when I first heard the word "moe", I was fully equipped to pronounce it correctly. Relevant real-world skills right there.

is there anywhere i can legally watch densha otoko? i just listened to a podcast where people argued about mulder's pronunciation of "ronin" in an x-files episode. some guy says ronin and mulder corrects him by pronouncing it with a long i and the podcast guys were like i bet that's not even right.

I pronounced it "mow" in my head and this is the image I had when I thought about it: I'm probably a bit older than most of you ... or some of your parents. Also, not a big Simpsons fan. Loved Futurama though. Took me a long time to get used to "mow-ay". Gah.
