I went overboard with my recent Plantera kill and made a huge arena with honey ponds, heart lanterns, campfire, all possible buffs and flask of ichor, and heart statues on a timer. Beat him handily, then got Vampire Knifes(Crimson chest was just inside the dungeon) and now I can just walk up and kill him.

Now I don't have any actual info, but this is such a huge overhaul that I wouldn't expect any massive mods to be available for awhile.

If anyone is having crash to desktop issues on load via Steam: Uninstall Terraria. Go into the steam folder with for Terraria stuff(whereever you installed Steam\Steam\steamapps\common\Terraria) and delete everything else in there. You probably used Modloader in the past and it is causing issues. Then reinstall. Edit: Don't worry, saved games are kept elsewhere so you won't lose anything.

Corruption has always spawned like this, and 95% of the time you need to prep your world a bit for hardmode, or you can just suck it up and yolo. Not everything needs to be perfect in a world. Edit: That jungle is going to suck but it is very fixable by building some trenches.

President Ark posted:the first time you kill the wall of flesh two giant stripes of your world's evil and the hallow appear in a big "v" shape and if that intersects the jungle it'll overwrite it, but it won't spread from there and no amount of terraforming can prevent it from happening, it's basically just dumb luck This is both correct and wrong. Corruption can turn mud into dirt and spread through that, but in 1.4 the special ore that spawns in the jungle actively prevents corruption from spreading and will actually turn dirt back into mud. Edit: For more detailed info on this than any person could reasonably want, the wiki page: https://terraria.gamepedia.com/Biome_spread

President Ark posted:Except biome-specific grass other than the mud ones (jungle grass and mushroom grass) can't spread underground. Have you ever seen corruption grass in the cave layer ever? No, just corruption/crimson biomes made entirely of stone with bare-rear end dirt patches scattered around. Because the biome grass only grows on the surface. And you know what the jungle is? Almost entirely mud with very little stone. So while on the surface, the process goes Did you read the part titled: Hardmode Spread? "In Hardmode, the pre-Hardmode grass spreading remains unchanged. However, many more tiles become susceptible to conversion and will spread much faster. Read the table in the following way: Any of the spreading tiles can convert any of the pure tiles that is within three tiles from it to the respective converted tile." Look at the listed tiles.

Eh, sorta. Defense is calculated on a 2:1 ratio on normal(meaning 100 defense gives 50 damage reduction), 1.5:1 on expert(100 def is 75 damage reduction) and 1:1 on master.

Using terrain in Terraria to avoid damage isn't 100% safe, and is a perfectly valid strategy. It isn't cheesy, or like using Cheat Engine(wtf).

I was just using those terms to describes the strategies I used in FTW because that's what they felt like to me. If you stopped calling it cheesy, people would probably stop talking about it.
