I won't be surprised if Mendes gets him down. I just don't think he's going to get him down enough to dominate him. From what I've seen he's got good hips and td defense, and the reach advantage he'll have is 8 inches, which is Jon Jones territory.

I cant remember ever seeing him use his takedown defense. Did brandao try to get him down maybe? Thats the only guy he faced whose any real threat with takedowns i think. To me, there's a decent chance Mendes is going to be able to get Conor down and prevent him from getting up. its a real possibility. Plus even if he can't, he just went toe to toe with Jose Aldo for five rounds. So we know neither his striking, toughness, chin or his gas are a question mark. Conor has shown fantastic striking, but we haven't seen him in that many bad situations. Real Talk i'm excited to see Conor fight a top five fighter. I wish Chad had the proper camp but all the same, this is exactly what I watch this poo poo for and I'm curious to see if Conor can stifle the doubters, and even in a potential loss shows us a lot more than clobbering dudes like Siver or whatever

Come and join my doomsday cult!
Here is my updated sperg for the next however-the-gently caress-many events, for reference purposes. This will be subject to frequent updates.

Fighters making their UFC debut are denoted with a 'D'.

Matches that are scratched from a card without any type of replacement are marked with a strike-through.

UFC 189 – PPV
July 11 - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Main Card: 10PM ET/7PM PT | Prelims: 8PM ET/5PM PT | Early Prelims: 7PM ET/4PM PT
Quick Summary: Connor McGregor is the best fighter in the history of ever and the only
reason people don't realize it is because Dana White hasn't told them enough and everyone
should pay $60 to see him get slaughtered Anderson Silva money. Also, in what will
probably be a much better fight (from a fighting standpoint), Robbie Lawler! :swoon:
EDIT: The above holds true even with Chad Mendes in there. :colbert:

there are only four two open spots for fights from TUF fighters, it doesn't speak very
well for the season.

July 15 - San Diego, California, USA
Main Card: 10PM ET/7PM PT | Prelims: 8PM ET/7PM PT | Early Prelims: 7PM ET/4PM PT
Quick Summary: Relatively deep main card, particularly for free television, capped by a
heavyweight tilt between a veteran future Hall of Famer, and whatever the hell Todd Duffee
is at this point without TRT. Should be fun. Possibly legitimately, possibly for ironic reasons.

July 18 - Glasgow, Scotland
Main Card: 1PM ET/10 AM PT | Prelims: 11AM ET/8AM PT | Early Prelims: 10AM ET/7AM PT
Quick Summary: Those are some mighty not-horrible-looking prelims. And Jo Calderwood!
And Michael Bisping! But mostly Jojo because :3:, I don't care if she doesn't know how
to kimura.

Titan FC 34 - Fight Pass
July 18 - Kansas City, Missouri, USA

Quick Summary: This is a free title fight on totally free TV (in the U.S.) involving
someone other than Mighty Mouse, with two well matched fighters in a rematch of one of
the most technically beautiful and prolonged beatdowns ever. Also, Gomi vs. Lauzon is al-
most in its own category of "cannot possibly suck", So yeah, probably worth your time.

watch a bunch of old Brazilian legends and guess which ones used to be juiced all to gently caress.
Also, yes, there are seven freaking fights on the main card, which is actually pretty drat
cool (or might be if two weren't TUF Brasil 4 finals)

Quick Summary: It's a Canadian Fight Night card. The most prominent Canadian fighter on it
is Patrick Cote. Canada isn't quite what it used to be. There are some fun fights on paper to be

plete and utter disaster.

Main Card: 10PM ET/7PM PT | Prelims: 8PM ET/5PM PT | Early Prelims: TBA

Brandao did try to take him down but Conor reversed him with a lateral drop. Siver tried to get him down and actually did make his but touch the canvas when he caught Conor throwing a flying knee, but he instantly got back up.

You need haters. Fellas if you got 20 haters, you need 40 of them motherfuckers. If there's any haters in here that don't have nobody to hate on, feel free to hate on me
I forgot to add that this is going to be a great month for us, but someone else is having the best month of his life.

Is tonight the greatest moment in Dominick Cruz's life?

No.

The greatest moment in my life was realizing that I didn't need a belt to be happy.
Mendes should fly that Jonas guy out to train him for the next few days. Then he'll for sure beat Conor McGregor on the feet.

This is going to be terrible for the fighters but at this point I just can't stop laughing at how completely a multi-billion dollar sports apparel company managed to gently caress this up.

And the mercy seat is awaiting,
And I think my head is burning,
And in a way I'm yearning,
To be done with all this measuring of proof.
An eye for an eye
And a tooth for a tooth,
And anyway I told the truth,
And I'm not afraid to die.

Half of these Reebok Jerseys don't even have names on them for half the fighters. It's just a generic black top with Reebok patch in the corner.

Could they have hosed this up any more?

My first thought for why they were making an interim belt was that they want to keep McGregor at the top of the card.
