Thank you for starting this thread.

What theory that the Ukrainians shot down MH17 do you believe the most plausible? Are you aware the designer of the Su-25 says there is no way the plane is capable of shooting down a commercial airliner at the altitude it was flying the time of the attack?

http://fighterjetnews.com/2015/03/12/designer-says-no-su-25-couldnt-have-shot-down-mh17/

How familiar are you with Bellingcat's work to find the party responsible for the downing of MH17?

https://www.bellingcat.com/tag/mh17/

You claim that Russians are not in Southeastern Ukraine fighting against the Ukrainian military, yet you admit you are in fact from Moscow. How many Russians are there in Ukraine fighting Ukrainians who are defending their country from an invading force?

And finally, what are your thoughts on Simon Ortovsky's recent report that proved Russian regular military from Siberia were in Debaltseve last winter fighting Ukrainian forces after the Minsk peace agreement, in which Vladimir Putin himself attended, was signed?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zssIFN2mso

Su-25 claim was made by a single retarded TV channel, quickly picked up by a few fringed idiots and blown out completely out of proportion by the western media who tried and did to spin it as "official russian goverment position. It is not, nor do I know anyone who seriously conciders it to be a theory. It was a BUK missle, simple as that.

I ask you to make the distinction between Russian nationals and Russian Army regular forces. Russian Army regular forces are NOT present in fighting. Composition of Russians/other nationalities is around 15% Russians, 70% Ukrainians and the rest divided between other ethnicities. My unit had 6 Ukrainians, 2 Russians, a Tajik, and a Czech.

Debaltsevo was mostly carried on the back of tank battallion "August", whom I had the pleasure of working with for a good duration of time, including during the Debaltsevo cauldron. I knew a lot of good men that died there. I wish Russia would have helped. Wouldn't be so drat bloody then.

Do you think current NATO deployments in Baltics and Poland threaten Russia? If so, then how? Why would NATO invade Russia?

Do you think that Maidan was made by CIA and not a national uprising against pro-Russian government?

If the Ukrainian military in the beginning of these "funtimes" was molded and formed by years of pro-Russian government, how can you blame them for the mistakes in the beginning of the conflict?

Similarly, why would the new government orchestrate a crisis if they're, you know, new? And most of the troubles could be simply blamed on the old government?

What's the legality of Little Green Men appearing in Crimea? What did they protect?

If Crimea was given to Ukraine illegally, is the continuing Russian presence in Kaliningrad, which was given to the USSR for 50 years tops, still legal?
Current NATO deployments in Baltics are a token sign of support and remoralisation by NATO. It is not a threat, not posturing, nothing of sorts, more of a "Hey, we're still here". Far as I'm aware, NATO has full right to move troops inside NATO territory, so what's the problem?

Maidan started as a peaceful protest, not the first of it's kind in the Post-USSR Ukraine. How it ended the way it did? Honestly, I do not know. Yes, there was probably a few pushes by CIA/whatever in the right direction, but it shouldn't have been so bloody without intervention. It's a shame those people never got what they wanted in the first place - economic association treaties or NATO membership. Still not an excuse, as those in Kiev shouldnt be able to speak for the whole country.

Because the current "goverment" goals, at least from my point of view, is simply stealing what they can, while blaming all their problems on the old goverment, the rebels, russia, whatever. When it'll get too hot, they'll leave.

The rest of your questions are... geopolitics. I do not know enough about international law, nor do I know the texts of agreements that controlled the presence of russian military on their bases in Crimea, so I cannot speak on that count, however: We took it, it IS better for Crimean people(Do you agree with that?). Was it illegal by other countries laws? Yes, probably. Was it illegal by Russian ones? No, it was not. But Putin got away with it, so yeah. Krym Nash, Nyash Myash.

Donetsk currently has no shortages of basic infrastructure. City administration repairs any broken communications(Mostly waterworks is what gives the problems) quite expeditely. They have also recently started to repair roads in the outskirts(City itself is well-maintained). Unfortunately, even pre-war roads in the region... were quite awful.

And it's not like war damages, no. This road(A federal road, if the Ukraine had been a federation), simply hasn't been repaired since the 2000's. At least the new people in charge are plugging the bloody holes.
I know there are radio stations in both republics, but they've got extremely lovely music selection so I havent really bothered listening to them any. I know there ARE TV broadcasts, but the last time I've seen a TV was probably 2014, so eh.

Basic chow on base, various porriges with long-term-kept meat(I am afraid of looking at the date stamps on it, honestly.), soups, macaronis with the same meat. No sweets, no vegetables or fruit. Tea only when going to/from combat ops. Sugar's freely avaliable because nobody's gonna chow it up as is, right? Of course, nothing prohibiting you from just... buying things yourself? There are no shortages of anything in stores or markets. The only thing I have not been able to find here is tabasco and peanut butter. Please, bear in mind that both Donetsk and Luhansk regions were the most heavily industrialized and developed regions of the country in terms of factories, repair facilities, research facilities and the rest. As a result, it also had the biggest equipment and weapon storages in the entire region of rostov/ukrainian ssr. I wish Russia helped. And yes. Again, there are unfortunate incidents like that. Some battalions in DNR I would gladly see gone. Praetorians. Cossacs. All of the Cossacs, I bloody hate Cossacs. Again, those are the fringe cases and yes, I will say that those people are punished, something I do not see on the other side, except maybe the recent Tornado battalion case? Starting salaries for a private, from what I remember, were about 130-170 USD equivalent. I have exited with a written salary equivalent of 570$ USD. I have not seen a single payout in four months, but that was never a problem for me, aside from making it somewhat difficult to live off-base. Some batallions have it better, some have it worse. As is, we're mostly self funded through our civilian jobs and donations. I was not trained in Russia. Everything to do with electronics I learned on the go from my first day. I had a bit of the background with electronic systems, so that helped. I imagine there were, and even now there still are background checks, especially if you switch from battalion to battalion. Recon is a paranoid field, even here. Has it's benefits, though.

T-Motors on both fixed wing and multirotors.

Electric. We mostly hand launch, but we were just starting to switch to catapults recently. Most of the problem with catapults wwas with reinforcing the shell enough for it not to deform, crack or otherwise damage itself during the launch. That problem we fixed, to a certain degree.

We use Moscow-based shops(In fact, most of the parts for both them and us come are bought in the same shops!). It's mostly chinese-made, such as the fuselages for FW. Carbon-fibre props mostly.

SDR is an interesting idea, but since they have no problem with comm encryption, it'd be pretty useless for us.

Neither Germany, nor Poland have a functional army at this moment. Poles have a few amazing special-forces groups, but I cannot say I respect them as a military fighting force. Same stands for Germany.

In what way are you a separatist if you are foreign to the country you are fighting in, fighting in a force led by (and seemingly comprised largely of) foreign nationals, using foreign-provided equipment, with the apparent goal of occupation or annexation of territory? The terms Mercenary, War Tourist, illegal combatant, or occupying soldier would seem to better describe your role in affairs (depending on the technicalities).

How do you reconcile the Russian government's admission of the military occupation and seizure of Crimea via Russian troops following months of rather absurd claims to the contrary, similar to the absurd denials made regarding the current "separatists"?

What did you think of the various videos released by separatists immediately following the shoot down of the airliner in which they claimed responsibility and celebrated it as though it had been a military plane? He is a self-funded war tourist at best, Putin is probably laughing at his situation while defrauding his mother of her state pension and corruptly selling his Moscow real estate to his mafia buddies after firing him from whatever law firm wouldn't toe the Kremlin line.

OP, you helped to displace more than a million people who fled to other parts of Ukraine. Because of you more than half of the people who fled cannot return home. They are innocent and want you and your war gone.

Do you feel sympathy for these people or do they deserve it?

Edit:
Some advice: Russia about to drop you and your fellow occupiers like a hot potato. Make sure that you are ready to leave at any time.

Man, I was expecting more "Death to HoratioRash" in this post.

To be fair though its hardly his fault. He helped to make this happen only slightly more than you, Lucy Heartfilia, or I did.

Also have you seen Vice's "Selfie Soldiers"?

Do you have a rebuttal to it?

That somehow, one retard kid posting, unconfirmed, geotagged crap is the proof? I know since it's "proof of russian involvement" you will not be able to examine it in any critical capacity, but hey. I'll repeat myself probably and say that VICE hasn't been about journalism for awhile now - it has turned into drama war films.

OP,

1. Did you at any point after Maidan consider the Ukrainian government to be a "junta "? If so, why, and how does it fit the definition of the word?

2. Can you name any atrocities perpetrated against Russians outside the Donbass in Kharkov, Odessa, Nikolaev, etc. during the last 12 months?

3. What do you think DNR/LNR are even fighting for at this point? What do you think the Ukrainians are fighting for?

4. How would you and people you know in the Donbass or Russia react if the rumors that DNR and LNR are going to be "flushed" turn out to be true?

1. It's a government that exists through an armed takeover of power by using existing forces, that, while not being officially recognized back then, are now officially part of ukrainian military.

2. Are the constant hounding of russian-speakers and politically "unreliable" people no enough for you? Constant use of force, arrests, simply beating people up? I could link a lot of russian-language media, but that'd be kremlin lies for you, would they? I knew a guy who died in that Odessa fire. But those people burned themselves, correct?

3. Same as they did. Survival, independence.

4. Project Novorossiya is not closed.

What about the subsequent removal of these videos shortly following the announcement of the missing airliner?

This is my land, Ukrainians make up the most of men serving(But you wont believe that), using same pre-breakup equipment as they should(But you wont believe that). Call me what you wish. Ill call you a pinkiegiggles. That okay with you, pinkiegiggles? Has adopting a new name changed anything in your life?

Economic side of civil law - arbitration and such. Not really, it does not.

Did you end up engaging the enemy in a firefight? Not asking if you killed somebody, just if you actually got under fire at some point, or if you served behind the front lines.
I have never had to use my rifle. We've had a few close calls with artillery mines, but we were always smart enough to change positions immediately after launch. We usually launch 3-5km from the actual fighting.

Hell, what's the protocol if a Ukrainian soldier or militia member starts posting their own ask/tell? HoratioRash, how would you feel about talking with Ukrainian combatants online? Would you be able to casually chat about how the war's going or the usual pop-culture stuff, while working to kill each other offline?
I talk to VSU soldiers on social networking sometimes, mostly on prices, how this war is bad for us all, etc. Most are surprisingly civil if you don't reply to them on anything political.
I'd love a VSU/NG thread and I'd ask those people a lot of questions. War is not a reason to be rude.

What is your opinion of foreign volunteers (Chetniks and such)? I assume you like them even less than the Cossacks.

They are apparently receiving a "stipend" of $2000 USD a week, more than competitive with what the Syrian government is currently offering to "volunteers".
I've never met the chetnik groups, but I know a few Serbs who fight with us. Anything about a stipend like this is complete horselie.

I have helped to displace noone. Criminal actions by UAF have displaced 1.3~m people, of which 800k~ fled to russia, and only 380~ fled to Ukraine. Weird how that is, huh?

I do not feel any sympathy for military-age able-bodied men. Rest, yes, tragic.

Did you actually watch the video? Simon visited all the place he'd been, both inside Russia and Ukraine and recreated the photographs, could you explain how he could recreate this photo in Ukraine if it was "unconfirmed, geotagged crap"?

Could you also explain how Pantsir-S1's ended up in Ukraine when they Ukrainian military doesn't have them (but the Russian military does)?

There also is an informative report on Atlantic Council's website, OP.

Also, how come Donbass is your land if you're from Moscow?

Speaking of displaced people - where do you source your numbers? They seem to be rather different from those by UN, for example, as seen here:

Give me a rifle, one round, and point me at Berlin!
How does righteous war of liberation mesh with feeding PoWs their own unit insignias on camera or leading PoWs through the streets for the populace to spit on them, or artillery shooting-and-scooting from living hoods?

And if the cause is so righteous, then why the propaganda like this?
