Did you already get yours? I've only got confirmation email of the purchase. Not even one about
that nickstarter ended. I purchased them on a whim to get cool female necromancer for my
legion of nagash - warcry warband.
On that note how small are Frostgrave minis compared to say, GW skeletons?

They're still yet to come out - that image is from Facebook. They've updated on Facebook that the sprues have come and they're starting to send them out. It's worth following them on Facebook or Twitter, despite the horrors of social media.

I can't set up a decent picture right now, but I'd say the Frostgrave figures may be a tad bit smaller? A millimetre or two? GW skellies have unreasonably/un-realistically proportioned skulls/heads, anyway, I find.

Annie is too pure for this dumb Earth.

I haven't ordered from her in years but I would in a heartbeat if any of my hobby needs veered toward her stock again. (Heavy into Legion now)

I am still impressed by reasonable transatlantic shipping rates and treats in the package.

Well, poo poo, Irate Tree got perma'd over some nonsense with the Goonhammer boys. (and girls, presumably) I better get off my arse and paint some things to provide something for the thread!

Well, the second edition of Frostgrave is still on track to be released in August. aRu-mor is up for the art, after working with Osprey on their various Adventures books, Dracula's America and Ragnarok, Wizards' equipment cost nothing, apprentices get buffs and it's less of a "game over, man!" should your head mage get geeked, warbands are more like Ghost Archipelago crews with a soldier being either "standard" or "specialist" with a maximum of 4 specialists in your 'band, Thugs and Thieves being free so you always have 8 flunkeys shields soldiers available in a game, there's going to be 20 scenarios in the book, 10 re-writes from the first edition book and 10 brand spanking new ones and there will be an appendix, already available, detailing how to use the supplements from first edition with second edition rules.

There's two new plastic sets coming up, one being armoured soldiers:

I don't know what the second set will be, but there will be one and also metal figures according to this interview with Nick Eyre, the head honcho at North Star Miniatures.

I sound like a goofy fanboy but I adore the North Star ranges for frostgrave and Rangers. I’m glad too see Frostgrave still chugging along, and not just because I won the scenario contest and got my name in a book with gaming bigwigs.

"Authorities say the phony Pope can be recognized by his high-top sneakers and incredibly foul mouth."

So I sat down with him to Interview him for my podcast. He felt that the Frostgrave 1.0 problems were addressed for the most part, but he really wanted to focus on specialized spells. Of the 80 or so spells only about 50 got used a lot. He felt that certain schools of magic had spells that we're discouraging to take, and he wanted to address that Example: Soothsayer Awareness. He's re-worked a lot of spells. Another example is the Illusionist: Beauty and Monstrous forms which were very similar. He wanted to make them different. The spells are a big part of the changes, and how they work. He is adding a few, but mostly the changes pertain to balance.

Another change, was how Soldiers are hired. Soldiers are broken into 2 groups
Specialists: You can only take max 4 of these
Standard: Normal Units

He felt that this was unfair to balance if someone came across a large amount of gold and just hired specialists. He's confident that these changes will allow the player to have an easier time building a warband

Thieves and Thugs are free. He wanted to address if you lost multiple units, you could quickly replace them with these units so that you didn't get immediately hamstrung.

He apologized, because he wrote the edition 6 months ago, but he still hasn't gotten his copy due to covid. But he hopes you all enjoy it!

He also announced another game he's working on based on frostgrave.

Tomorrow, doom!
But now, tea.
Interesting that those were his priorities. I would have said the recurring issues with Frostgrave have been players annoyed by the swinginess of the D20, the way a dead wizard tends to be unrecoverable from in a campaign (and yes he did mitigate this with the Homunculus, although you still have to buy the spell), and the players who all clamoured for black powder rules.

I'll be curious to see how FG 2.0 goes. The corebook is probably an auto-buy for me, and we'll see what happens next.

Very cool. Still haven't played 1e (so I can't say what I thought the issues were) and probably never will but still gonna buy the 2e book.

I agree. I saw a captain do 15 damage to another Wizard in one shot. That's a major issue.
