I have to admit, I couldn't help but watch Cana and Gwen for a moment as their duel descended into overt violence. Luckily, I returned my attention to my own duel just in time to see Lizabeth try and immediately knock me out before anything else happened. I managed to get a Shield Charm up, though it was mildly sloppy, thankfully it deflected it. To be honest I was kind of ready for her to try something like that, if anything to try and prove herself better than Gwen (not that she succeeded or anything).

"Rude, Lizabeth. Going for the knockout blow just when the round's started." I frown, and wave my hands like I was a conductor, hoping to catch her unawares with a Cantis hex. I guess I was probably off-balance still though, because I felt the spell fizzle - or maybe it was the enormous barrier I just noticed was encompassing most of the classroom - my dueling circle included!

Going to try a shutdown to apply that Cantis...

Gwen and Cana decided to try to kill themselves in the most inelegant way, and I was of half a mind to have Gwen locked out from the house room. Even Eustace showed more restraint and intelligence than Gwen, it was kinda impressive how utterly and totally moronic it was to do that in the middle of class. I decided that I would have to speak with Oliver about talking to her, since I wasn't apart of her sphere of influence I doubted she would care if I said anything or not. Moving against her wasn't a good idea at this juncture any way, I had to focus on other things, like finding out what the Creator is trying to do.

I am starting to think it was all obscured for a lesson and that irritated the hell out of me. Well not that any existed in me, but you get my point. I do remember a time not so long ago where two students were attempting to kill each other. I believe it was Thomas Dean trying to defend Chaucer Umstead for the insults and jibes against Chelsea Nix, and though they were not exactly the best wizards that day, they were rather fierce. It was then I saw Thomas Dean draw blood with a vicious spell that I couldn't quite place. After Chaucer was revived and healed, they both went their own ways, only with Thomas Dean a large amount of points lost from Hufflepuff.

My attention to the newest folly by one of the Slytherin team was distracted by Victoria coming toward me, and asking me a puzzling question. No one had ever wanted to go with me to Hogsmeade and I had never thought anything about it. I didn't realize it was something that I was supposed to do with other people. It never bothered me that they didn't but this might be something inhuman that I was doing and that was something that I couldn't have done. I might have an alien view point compared to the mortals, and what I saw in Victoria was worrying, I better guard my own flesh heart from anything. No, I had to forgive the mortals for that, that was something wrong with me.

That look reminded me of a few other instances, and her possible paths seemed to line up with me going, at least I could tell, the lack of a larger picture is frustrating but this made sense. "Oh?" I said still smiling from my display, "No, I am not. Would you like to join me? If you don't mind joining me on two quick errands first, and then I will be completely free, I've never gone with anyone so we can see the sights." I said quite honestly, and I felt very naturally.

That word isn't one I would use. Boil, maybe. Harpy. The point of the matter is she knew I wanted to have a relationship with Martin, but went and hosed him behind my back without telling anyone. But I think I understand better the context of his note.

He's letting her down. Must be. He can't say it to her face--he's not man enough for that--but he can leave her a note in the Melting Hall in his impersonal way and come crawling back to me. That must be it. He's sorry, and I forgive him. My anger turns to a wicked smile as Erin cuts off my stare.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just..." I lift off my veil and show it to her. "Could you regrow my hair, please?"

"Of course, Val. Now, pick a colour--"

"Black." She knows I want black hair as much as I want black anything. I'm assuming she would have made it green or something had I stalled. She waves her wand at me and I can feel the tickle on my neck as my hair reforms. "Thanks a bunch, Erin. Before you go, could you...?" She eyeballs me as I deliberate.

"Could you find a way to talk to Cana for me? I want to see if she's alright, and..." I rub one of our fliers between my fingers. "Ask if there's anything you or I can do to help. Please?"

Today's been really weird, I mean first Harriet and Eustace and now Gillian. Is it human mating season or something? I thought it didn't work like that but based on the evidence around me it's the only logical explanation so I must be wrong. Not that I'm complaining exactly the attention is kind of nice. It's just--

Holy poo poo. Did you see the way Gwen sent Cana flying? I hope this isn't some other mating ritual because that looked like it really hurt. I like not having broken bones thank you very much. Maybe this duelling club thing wouldn't be a bad idea. Besides it'll give me more chances to watch Valerie. No not like that, I'm just impressed at how easily she makes friends. Maybe I can figure out how she does it and copy it if I study her enough. Maybe seeing her in an environment where she's the one in charge will give me a bit more insight into how she does it.

Still while everyone was distracted by the fight I just happened to spot something awfully familiar out of the corner of my eye and my blood ran cold(er), One of the vials on Professor Legate's desk was the same one i'd left under the tree filled with unicorn blood. Where had he got if from? I mean she was supposed to have a been an auror or something like that, Maybe she was investigating where it came from oh drat, did that mean she was onto me. I mean it couldn't have been for her could it? what would she want with unicorn blood. Oh poo poo and now the professor's looking this way, Hold your nerve don't react.

I lower my barrier the moment Professor Legate approaches, "Thanks ma'am." I smile sheepishly at her. I move to help Lessy get Cana up as she's the most injured of the pair, "You got her?" I ask Lessy and when she nods quickly to me I nod in return then move to help Gwen. Even though Cana is the more physically hurt it looks like Gwen is taking this whole scuffle much harder. Gwen had a lot of pride and that was hurt today. She needed comforted and I decided to do my best as a friend. I stow my wand away and slide my arms under her elbows pulling her up to her unsteady feet. I murmur soothingly at her as I move her arm around my shoulder and move my arm around her waist to support her. I feel my face heat up again. Jelly-legged as she is she's going to need my support getting to the infirmary, I would spare as much of her pride as I could and do my best to carry her out with dignity. I was grateful to Lessy for her help because I wasn't sure I could carry both girls myself. I open the door and wait for Lessy in the hall then we walk with our friends to the nurse's. Lessy is beside me with Cana supported on her right, I've got Gwen hanging off my left so the pair of us act as a divider between the once-feuding rivals.

I've taken this walk so many times I had it memorized. In duels and matches where I struck too hard on accident I always did my best to make right by it by taking responsibility and escorting my partner myself. There have been a few times where the contests had gotten really heated and I'd been injured myself. Once I missed a pillow and banged open scalp on a desk end. The nurse knew about my special birthmark because of it. So, to say I was a familiar face in the infirmary would be an understatement. I always volunteered to take injured students and the clinician there, Mister de Vries, knew me well. I considered him a friend.

We walked in silence for a long stretch before I finally spoke, "I'm glad Cana has a friend like you." I say to Lessy and I give her a smile. "She's very lucky to have someone so close to her."

[Ahahaha, accidentally Turning On Lessy with my compliments
It's a 7
I wonder what she'll do...
]

"Why can't we all be friends?" I direct my voice to our injured companions, "Why do we have to fight? I all of us have a lot in common and we could get along." I knew Cana liked me, and I suspected Gwen wanted me and so I felt guilty because I was beyond certain that I was the reason they got into such a row. They were fighting over me and I'd rather they not! It made me blush just thinking these two beautiful women would injure themselves so much over an unimportant nobody like me. I was ashamed, I wasn't worth all this. I wanted them to get along so I could be friends with both of them.

"I think you should both apologize and that we should all be friends." I say softly, "I want to be good friends with you both." I offer meekly. I almost said girlfriends but gosh that was such a loaded word. I didn't even know where I stood with Cana so even if I meant a friend who was a girl I couldn't go throwing that word around. Just thinking about this was so lewd and I felt myself blushing even more.
(Maybe I didn't mean it like that.)

We're nearing the infirmary, but there's still plenty of time for them to talk and work this out between them before we arrive. I sincerely hoped they did.

I'm hit once more by Cana, and practically am flung across the room - well out of the pillowed area as I smashed into the ground for the second time today. Before I can even pick myself up, let alone retaliate, I'm getting yelled at by not JUST Legate, but by Senna as well. The former I expected, I was prepared for, her opinions didn't matter, but I felt ashamed for making Senna upset. She was so adorably innocent, she had all the perfect traits for a Hufflepuff. But that included that incessant need to be nice and never hurt anyone, and besides being adorable - which it really was - that made it hard to really exist. It was almost enough that a lesser person might give up. But a Teague is not a lesser person - and I am not a lesser Teague.

The fact that Cana got detention was in fact surprising to me, she was in the favored house - everyone knew that Gryffindor was unfairly favored nearly constantly. Oh, but Harry Potter and his friends were all from there, and they were all heroes, so clearly they were the most heroic of people and thus needed the special treatment. At least this year was a little different, it seemed like Ravenclaw was getting all the attention, which I didn't really mind - I was, after all, a hat stall between the two. Of course, it wasn't my fault that we were behind, even if the most recent occasion was my fault - what my house mates forget is that I've gotten more than half of the points we've gotten over the year on my own. Oh sure, I lost about half of what i earned too, but tch.

So now we were walking to the infirmary, and I was bleeding on my back and could feel it under my shirt - but Senna had her arm wrapped behind me and she had lifted me up off the floor, and sure, maybe my legs were a bit unstable but that clearly wasn't why I was leaning on Senna, and everyone would know it. I could walk on my own if I had to, but I wouldn't do so because I could instead hold the object of my... interest in my arms. Even if it did kind of hurt when she ran her arm up my back as we walked - I could feel that I was bleeding from somewhere, and the not-quite caress did manage to touch it.

And best of all - Cana wasn't even on my mind anymore. Senna was the only concern for me, but first she started talking to Lessy of all people - Lessy! And then she started saying we should all get along and be friends - it was so sweet of her, but it was also so annoying! Cana cheated, she intentionally hurt me first, knowing that it was against the rules, and then when I showed her who was better, she shot me in the back. I couldn't resist it, just a small comment, one to show how I was much more interested in peace than some wet behind the ears Snitch-chaser. "Why of course, Senna. I made no intention of having that escalate as it did - I would never want to hurt Cana like that usually. She is, after all, so... riveting."

I leaned back a little, still holding a bit too closely to Senna with one arm, as my eyes moved to Cana, and I gave a giggling wink, accompanied by one of my fabulous hair flips.

Turning on Cana.

"what?" I stare at Legate for a moment, before slowly pulling myself to my feet with Lessy's help. This was completely unfair! I struggle to stay upright on my own for a minute, before sagging back into Lessy's arms again, and have her lead me over to Professor Legate while Senna helps Gwendydd towards the door. "Professor," I murmur, trying to keep my voice low, but utterly failing at keeping it polite, "she could have killed me with that! I shouldn't have attacked back, but in the moment I thought she was trying to kill me! And I still didn't hurt her as badly as I am, she smashed my head into the loving ceiling!" Scene 1 (Last prompts for this scene)
With Cana and Gwen gone there's certainly been a lot less bloodshed. Legate's not exactly watching, but her paper's on her desk instead of propped up in her lap, so at least that's something. Senna's rather impressive shield faded as well after she left, allowing most of you to practice again.

Slytherins
Gwen - Before you can retaliate for Cana's odious lies and slanders you're both ushered into the Infirmary, Mister de Vries handling a three person workload as best he can within. You're put on a bed next to Cana, which sucks, but at least you see another student that's a fan of yours there. Who is it, and why are they here? Do you say anything to Senna, Gwen, or your fan? What do you think Mister de Vries is doing wrong that you could do better? What did he mess up the last time you were here?

Erhard - "Yes!" Victoria whispers to herself, then turns ever redder when she realizes you'd heard. "Thanks Erhard! We'll have fun, I promise... is there anywhere you'd want to go? In particular, or anything?" She's standing so close to you, it's like she wants to hug you but just can't bring herself to do so. Unfortunately, immediately behind her, you see that Eustace's squeezed his way into practicing with Harriet and Rupinder since his partner left to take Gwen and Senna to the office and he's not interested in practicing with Devon. End result of this? He's battered Harriet relentlessly, seemingly determined to hit her with a hex. There's an almost disturbing look of glee on his face. Making Victoria's day, or putting a stop to Eustace's cruelty - which is more important?

Ravenclaws
Margot - Lizabeth is right to be proud of her dueling abilities. Whipping her wand in a complicated but precise pattern, she perfectly finishes in time with your spell reaching her. Her non-verbal Protego is perfect, sending your hex rebounding towards you too quickly for you to deflect it. So, Cantis eh? What do you sing, and who all watches you? Does Legate notice, or are you too far away? What do you do?

Valerie - "Maybe later," Erin says in a tone that implies later might actually be never. "She's in the infirmary and that's so far away..." She shoots you a look that all but states that you'll need to handle it if you want it done at all, she's not interested. First Gillian and Martin, and now Erin won't even listen to you? You're feeling like you're losing control, aren't you? What are you gonna do about it? If not, who speaks to you that you hadn't anticipated, and what do they say that you can use to your advantage?

Gain condition Bossy

Hufflepuffs
Senna - "Aww, thanks Senna." Lessy's blushing a little bit, almost wrong-footed by your unexpected compliment. "You're really sweet, I can't believe you didn't make Prefect. And that was really neat, back in class."

She's giving you what she thinks you want, honest compliments in return for yours.

The three of you arrive at the Infirmary before the argument can be resolved unfortunately, a busy looking Mister de Vries scurrying in all directions at once to try and keep up with the nearly fully occupied rows of beds. Seems a few 5th years - and even one unlucky new transfer 6th year - have been Petrified. "Thanks for bringing them Senna." Mister de Vries says as way of greeting, fixing you and Lessy with a weary smile before indicating two free beds for them to be put on - right next to each other. What do you say to try and keep them from each other's throats while you're gone? You only have time to say goodbye to one of them before Mister de Vries hurries you off in order to treat them. Who do you choose? What does Lessy want to talk about on the way back to class?

Zachary - Gillian just wrinkles her nose at you, then shifts her stance suddenly. In a flash, she's gone from just playing around to rapidly barraging you with hex after hex. You're rocked off your feet, the end result of a few of her precise spells slipping through your guard. Landing on your butt with an undignified thud hard enough to hurt, you blink your eyes a few times before realizing you weren't imaging anything, she'd used some sort of hex that causes color-blindness on you! "Are ya ready again yet?" Gillian asks, entirely non-plussed by what she's just done. If anything, it's almost like she's disappointed in you. How do you respond?

Take 1 harm and the condition Color Blind

Gryffindors
Cana - Before Gwen can respond to your blistering retort you arrive at the Infirmary, and are quickly hustled into bed by a frantic looking Mister de Vries. He's not at all pleased to see you - when was the last time you got injured, and what did you do that made him so unhappy with you? So you and Gwen seem to be triaged for the moment, he'll be back in minute or two though.

Compounding your problems, Courtney MacDonald is opposite your bed, apparently being treated for a migraine. She's feeling well enough to sneer at you, but says nothing until Senna leaves. The second she does though, she starts in on you. "What's wrong Cana? You bump your head on something while you were getting up from off your knees?" It's a really lovely burn, but a couple others in the infirmary laugh as well. How do you respond?

Still need to return a condition to Senna.

Lee - Chaucer keeps asking you about Gwen / stealing glances at Margot. For being in non-verbal spell practice, he sure seems to be talking a lot. "Didn't muggles fix this problem?" Chaucer asks, looking genuinely confused. "Aren't there like, little books with lots of pictures of girls and descriptions of them, and they'll meet with you if you pick them? Or something? Wonder if we could try that here?" Did... did Chaucer just try and describe online dating? Is explaining the many, many things he has wrong with the concept possible? What did you notice during his confused questioning that worries you? What do you do?

"Aaw, thanks right back!" I say to Lessy, I feel like I've made a friend! Cana gets snappy as we heave everyone into the infirmary and I can't help but continue to press. "The only one looking bad right now is you, Cana!" I hiss in a low voice. "You should apologize." I say to her as I return Mister de Vries' smile. "Both of you." I direct my statement at the pair as I ease Gwen down upon the cot that's been set aside. "At least don't fight anymore, you're both hurt pretty bad." I draw in a breath, "But it would mean a lot to me if you both apologized and tried to be friendly." I give Gwen's shoulder a squeeze. She apologizes, but not in the way I want, and she comes on to me which makes me blush. I almost fuss about her apology but I've pushed enough. Gwen was too stubborn.

[Gwen gains a string on Senna for her Turn On below.]

I just give her a tired smile then move over to Cana and take her hand in mine as I sit at her side. I'd carried Gwen the whole way here and given her the best care I could, now it was Cana's turn. "You'll be better in time for Hogsmeade right? I'm looking forward to it." I speak in a low voice to her. "Get well soon okay? I'll save some bread for you." I give her hand a squeeze then she gived me a kiss. I squeak in surprise, I wasnt expecting that, and find myself kissing back quite a bit and quite intently! My hand closes over her in a squeeze.

[Senna gives herself to Cana, just a little, in response to her Turn On roll below.]

I break the kiss and blush at her grin. After catching my breath I wrinkle my nose at her and release her hand then stand. "G-good. Good!" I stammer as I step away.

I look around the many injured students, Petrified huh? That's not good. "Do you want me to stay and help a little?" I ask Mister de Vries. But he's already shooing Lessy and I out of the room. I apologize a lot and get out of his way. "She'll be okay." I assure Lessy as I walk down the hall with her after a wave into the Infirmary. "Both of them will be, they're tough." I murmur.

We walk in silence for a moment before Lessy speaks up, "Do you like Cana or Gwen?" She sounds almost accusing.

"Uh, I like them both. They're both super awesome girls!" I say, completely dodging the accusation. Awkward.

"Right but who do you like like?" She asks, effectively ruining the Girl's Love version of the Bechdel test for this post.

"I...I like them both? Like like? What does that even mean? Lessy this is a lot right now!" I wring my hands together before me. I feel uncomfortable.

"If you had to choose one or the other though?" She continues to pry despite my plea.

"I'm not choosing anyone!" I fuss and put some space between the pair of us. She hustles to keep up.

"But you're going on that date with Cana, who kissed you! And Gwen is--" Lessy begins.

"Stop!" I exclaim, "I don't want to talk about this!" I shirk away from her. I feel harangued by her. Trapped and judged.

"I'm sorry." I breathe to her and she apologizes right back in the same breath. Why couldn't it be this easy with Gwen and Cana? See? People can apologize! Gosh, they were both so impossible!

We walk the rest of the way in awkward but respectful silence.

But Lessy's questioning set uneasily in me. Gwen and Cana liked me, perhaps even like liked me. Did I like like either of them?

Oh no, this wasn't right! Singing was totally Margaret's bag not mine. Still, a hex is a hex and Lizabeth turning it back on me meant I was stuck. I mean, luckily we all had the same voice so I guess I still sounded okay, but I hate singing. And great, of course because it was Cantis it was going to be loud enough for people to hear. Yes, I hit the high parts, like I said Margaret might be the singer but we all use the same equipment so it's decently trained, my voice. Ugh, whoever cast that barrier so sloppily really messed me up I wish I knew who it was so I knew how to pay them back for it - duels are supposed to be between two people, right!?

Anyway, probably everyone's looking, Legate included, but I don't know for sure because I closed my eyes - this was super embarrassing after all, shut up.

Wait, didn't Senna do something to stop Gwen and Canna from going too far? Ugh, it was totally her wasn't it? Great. Thanks for that Senna. How'd you like it if someone messed with your classwork?

In fact, that might not be a bad swerve; I know Margaret does this sort of thing when no one's watching so what's good for the Crone is good for the Mother, right? While I was stuck singing my way through the song, with my eyes closed I focused on the pattern of the music and tried to invoke a vision. I wanted to know: where was Senna weak? Where was she vulnerable, magically, that could be exploited?

Well, going to try and get a ten here on gaze so I can switch aspects since I don't see another way to do it this scene.

I looked at Eustace and considered for a moment intervening, but then I remembered Senna's reactions to the attempts to even scold the big lout and give a simple correction, this made the most sense. After all, I was not supposed to interfere with decree am I not? Another sign of the Creator at work that I will let come to fruition as an abject lesson to the black and white of that line of thought. I tore my gaze away from Eustace and, this time, bowed to another command from on high for restraint and that fail again, another false sense of control via scolding. It took a physical hand to move the pieces on the board, or they would follow their core.

Eustace's core was as black and slimy as any creature from the edge of reality, but to the others that had been here with him and watched him grow since he was a first year, I was not surprised they pegged him as a net negative, as Senna had done, giving that power to him and giving him what he want will never work. It would take changing his mind manually all the experiences and twisting his mind into one that is more suited for mortals, it could be possible, but it would require the one upstairs from allowing, and that as I had seen wasn't possible. Even if change was possible the damage was done completely and irrevocably.

There was redemption really in the eyes of those around him, and the truth is that no matter what he did or who he became he was marked. There was no parole, no justice he was already convicted it would be a mercy watching the drecksau's eyes flash with every cast at Harriet that he was eking out what enjoyment he could get from life, like a lion eating a gazelle cruelty and pain was all the pleasure he knew how to give out. It would either destroy him or convert him, but I let the Creator has his word again, another life filled with pain that only existed to spread it among others.

Senna might not suspect that They are working through them, but they are, and this round the Creator won. There You go, another life you can take and twist like an abscess on time itself, deny the ability to change, or even convert him, though his suffering would never diminish, as the damage was permanent, and at the least the fangs and teeth could be declawed from the monster in the making. Instead this horrific half life as a monster begotten by monsters, and that is what he would remain. He could be fixed, they could always be fixed, there was way, but it involved changing reality itself, and the person's mind.

Instead of intervening even though I wanted too, as it was another foolish display no better than Gwen's and no less moronic, but it was now out of my hands and I could focus on what my path dictated for the moment, and when that failed, as it seemed most likely to do, it will be the true lack of mercy the Creator has. The law without intent is a slave collar, or a lash upon your back for disobedience when the other choice was death, and on this point I would prove to the Creator.

It was but a single moment's thought for me, Victoria didn't even notice the time it took to think, but I responded with a warm smile to her, with the assumption to her that I was desirable to obtain, though I wondered if the Creator was right in that I should be cast aside in such matters. "Well, you know there are a lot of places I have never gone at all." I said with a flourish of my wand hand, "I never cared much for sweets, but Honeydukes was very popular I heard, I've never been in it at all." I said once again carefully and honestly, I had to admit that even the few weeks with my all too mortal obsession.

"There are a few other places I have never been, never had the need too, and my Opa was never one to be without purpose." I said meaningfully, "Zonko's Joke Shop, was another one I have never been in, though I must admit that one I was interested in, but seemed geared toward having another accompany would be Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop. I would invite you to them all, but I don't want to take up all our time. Which one would you like best?" I asked innocently, as possible. I wasn't sure which one she would enjoy to be honest, I had always thought she was more focused on her books then me.

Perhaps she would surprise me and ask me to go to the book store?

Or maybe it won't. My heads ringing and my sight is all blurry. Clearing my head at least gets rid of the first. But whatever that hex she hit me with did something to my vision. Clever, a subtle hex like that can't be easy to do without saying a word. I'm not good at subtle but theres one spell i've been practising and I have to try something or look like a complete idiot. I formed the idea in my mind AQUAMENTI The idea I'd wanted was a quick jet of water aimed her face to cause her to flinch bavk.

What I got was something a little stronger. A full jet of water that hit her square in the chest knocking her back to the floor. Luckily she hit a pile of cushions so the damage was minor. She was absolutely soaked right through to the skin. "Oops sorry about that," I stammered as I stepped forward to offer her a hand up. I couldn't help but notice as I did so that the water spell had well caused her shirt to stick to her... um chest. Don't stare don't stare.

It's bad enough that I'm being lead into the infirmary and Mister de Vries was already panicking over an apparent stream of petrifications - clearly unrelated to the snake beast that I still thought might be existent, someone breeding such horrid monsters. Or at least I would hope so, judging by how he ran from bed to bed with poultices far too weak to properly heal a basilisk's misdirected gaze. Instead it seemed to be the result of a simple spell - but still one that would be easier to cure with a simple counter curse, rather than a waste of healing supplies that potions would be. But it seemed to be working enough, as Sarah McKellen - a fifth year Slytherin who practically worshiped the ground I walked on after watching me duel a few times - was apparently aware, and was waving as I got put onto one of the beds, right next to her - placing myself between her and Cana.

And the instant De Vries stopped watching me, she started talking, "Oh my gosh you wont believe it, we were like, practicing spells and like, suddenly bam, half of us fell over and like the other half were just like stuck, and we all got rushed here and it was like, so cool. I listened to you, about like, protecting myself, so I like, had the lightest of all of the petrifications, which is like great! Right?" She was fishing for compliments for that terribly minor accomplishment, I could scarely believe it, and she was talking over Senna, who was wishing for us to stop fighting and start getting along.

McKellen was disregarded for a moment, as I brushed a bit of hair out of my eyes and gave a little smile to Senna, "Oh, sweetheart, of course we will stop fighting." Was I laying it on a bit thick, it was always hard to tell, with how bulky these robes are, I always felt like I should go an extra little bit beyond normal for flirtation, "I'm certainly sorry for upsetting you, and unlike what Volfenfeld believes, I had no intention to hurt her so badly, I simply reacted badly to a cheap shot." This promise was - honestly- closely related to what de Vries messed up last I was here - when he left Lizbeth in the other bed next to me and then left the room, after I had just beaten her soundly in a duel, and she had hit me afterwards. Luckily this time I didn't suspect Cana could get away with hurting me more, with how packed full the infirmary was.

And then Senna was gone, and someone who was - according to the chart, up here for migraines was bitching about some joke about Cana on her knees - not a bad idea to have, but certainly not well implemented. And certainly not when her opponent had be mine - if anything was deserving of respect in this infirmary, it was taking a spell from me, as Cana had - and I didn't even allow the Gryffindor to respond before I opened my own mouth, "You are here for headaches like a small child, and yet you presume to make jokes about people who have earned actual injuries to rest in here? Does seeing someone who isn't simply lazy and skipping lessons too advanced for their feeble mind drive you to feel so inferior?"

If I could stand I would, but I didn't even end it at that, "She earned her wounds through a fight with me, and I wonder if you would be capable of even speaking or walking, should you have gone through the same thing as she did. In fact, I don't even need to wonder, I am certain that even Volfenfeld is superior to you, and that you would be sobbing on the floor in her position, with how much of weak child your presence here proved you as."Sure, I didn't like Cana, but at least she was fun, she had a spark to her, she bit back even if it was stupid. She tried to make herself more than she was, which was more than what most do.

I keep ignoring Senna's further entreaties towards peace as he continue down the hall, I have nothing to apologize, and I'm not the one whose in the wrong here! Its with some relief that that we get to the infirmary, my head wound -seriously why didn't Legate even try to cast a healing spell to help me get here, its like she didn't even care that it feels like my skull is cracked open- is making it hard enough to stand and walk, to say nothing of the Gwendydd's jellylegs from earlier.

I collapse into the bed, giving Lessy's hand a quick squeeze and a muttered "thanks," before I turn to look at Senna as she comes over. "Yeah- it'll take more than a trip to the ceiling to keep me away from our date tomorrow." I try to give her my usual wolfish grin, but I get the feeling it comes off a little weak, like my voice. At least I'm not losing so much blood as I was. Reaching out I take her hand to squeeze, pulling her a little closer to mutter in a tone quiet enough to not be heard by anyone else here, except Lessy maybe, "look, if it means so much to you, I'll let things go with Teague, alright?" Then I pull her in a little closer, raising my head to give her a quick kiss on the lips. I would have gone for longer, but my head fell back to the pillow too soon.

I start to take a moment to enjoy the kiss as Senna and Lessy leave, but before I can, MacDonald decides to open her stupid mouth, grrr, if I ever run across her at night.... Well I'm not going to do anything out of hand, but lets say maybe a bite on the rear might be in order. I start to push myself upright to fire back at her, but before I can, Gwen cuts over me, lashing out at her .... for my sake? I sit there with my mouth half formed around my planned retaliation, looking at her, then I slowly let myself fall back in bed. Once the attention in the room has shifted away, I roll over onto my side to look at her, and give her a faint smile and a grumble out "...thanks Teague," followed by a short pause, and then a grudging, "good hex earlier."

I really hope de Vries hurries up and takes care of me, my head is bloody killing me.

Scene 1 (End)
By the time Senna and Lessy have made it back to class, the period's nearly over. Legate's instructs everyone to put the practice area back in order, copy down the homework assignment (Five Practical Upsides to Nonverbal spells, and How to Defend Against Them) and not be late for their next class. Since Gwen and Cana aren't here, they obviously aren't aware of this assignment yet - and it's due at the start of your next class. Any of you planning on telling them? Regardless, what class do you have next, and how does it go? Anything interesting happen?

Margot - Before class ended, while you were still focused on Senna? While singing in front of the whole class, I'm sure you remember? A headline from Legate's Paper kept leaping out at you. Ministry Corruption Exposed! Beneath it, the image of an Auror leading an official away, to be tried an convicted. Even if they're innocent, they look incredibly guilty - and it's the perception that matters. Your vision shifts, and it's Senna being arrested, no one believe in Senna's innocence - and from the look on her face, she couldn't lift a wand if she tried. The hex, your singing, the vision, and then class itself all come to an end in short order, but the image of a guilty and horrified looking Senna sticks with you.

Zach - As you're leaving class, Legate stops you. When it's just the two of you left in class, she leans in closer, looking angry and nearly sticking a finger in your face. "Keep your eyes to yourself Bainbridge. Ten points from Hufflepuff, now get out of my classroom." That's a big chunk of points gone all at once, and you can't tell if its for looking at what she had on her desk, or your hex on Gillian. Which do you think prompted such anger?

Erhard - Class ends before Victoria answers you, but she promises she'll consider the possibilities and then get back to you later. She's blushing so much it almost looks like she's sunburned. Meanwhile Harriet's face is flushed as well, but in pain and anger instead of joy. Eustace seems to have landed a Stinging Hex, and she's suffering for it. Still, the Creator allowed it - you allowed it. It must be good.

Mark Forgiveness, lose Twitchy Ears.

Infirmary Crew
Cana and Gwen - Eventually you're both seen too, and despite how overworked he is, Mister de Vries does good work. A few words and flicks of his wand later, and you've both been Unjellified in addition to having bleeding stopped and bruises stymied. Since a bunch of third years messed with a mandrake and are spilling into the entrance, you're both hustled off to one of the few free recovery rooms - two beds, lots of blankets, some chairs and one window with a view your only companions for the next few hours while his healing spells finish their work. Aside from the person that just tried to kill you, of course, since you're both in the same room. Have fun!

Remove Jellylegs condition and 1 harm apiece.

Scene 2 (Highlights refreshed)

Lunch Crew
As your classes come to an end it's lunchtime, hooray! In an effort to increase inter-House cohesion, all the lunch tables are open to anyone - still, most generally stick to their house's usual table during more formal events. Who do you sit with, and what do you have to eat today? What's being gossiped about or discussed by the people near you when each of you sits down?

Senna - Have you given any thought to what Lessy said? If they both like like you, doesn't that mean you'll have to let one of them down? What do you intend to do? What problem do you notice in the lunch room (can involve the other PCs or NPCs, your choice) and is there anything you can do to make things right? Who comments on your self-involvedness?

Zachary - A letter's arrived from your father. What incident does he somehow already know about that you'd rather he not? What classmate (PC please) does he want you to undermine, and are you willing to do it? What do you think of Harriet being missing from lunch?

Lee - It's quiet, but you hear someone whisper "bloody chav" as you're walking through the lunchroom. The general direction it came from - a table of Ravenclaw fifth years - is full of smugly innocent-looking faces, but the voice was definitely male, ruling out all but three possibilities. Are you going to let it slide, or do something about this insult?

Erhard - What about Arithmancy today reflected the mark of your Creator, and how has it inspired you? Where do you usually sit at lunch, and who's sitting in your spot today? Do you think they did it on purpose? Do you intend to confront them over it, or sit elsewhere?

Margot - As if your day's not odd enough already, it seems that you've spotted a pattern in the Daily Prophet's crossword section. The way it's shaped reminds you eerily of one of your earlier visions. Still, unless you can complete the whole thing - and this one's a doozy - you won't be able to see it's full meaning. Do you enlist others to help you solve it, or write the whole thing off as coincidence and go about your day? What questions are you having trouble with, anyway?

Valerie - Where do you and the other Horseman usually sit for lunch? Who's sitting with them when you arrive that surprises you? Are you going to handle Gillian or Martin, or bide your time? What minor present does Erin offer you to make up for blowing off your request earlier?

Recovery Room Crew

Gwen and Cana - It's been an hour or two of being cooped up in your beds. What have you talked about during that time? Has anyone come to visit either of you in the short time you've been there? Is there anyone there now, or have you been left to your own devices?

You'll both recover 1 more point of harm at the end of this scene provided you don't take any over the course of it.

I could scarcely believe that Cana not only thanked me for defending her - and leaving her accoster gasping for breath and blushing furiously while the rest of the room laughed at her, but even complimented me on my hex. I had the slightest blush on my face from the sheer surprise of it, but it certainly didn't stop me from replying, my voice still haughty even in the whisper, "Why, of course. I do not lie or cheat to get what I wish, and thus I am truthful of when someone is worthy of a little respect. You, little puppy," I loved making fun of her name - really, a family named after wolves, "Are."

We barely had any time to talk last that though, as Mister de Vries finally came over to us, weaving his hilariously simple healing spells, and offering us potions to relieve pain. At least I could actually feel my legs now, not that annoying numbness that made it so difficult to walk. Which clearly only lasted so long because of how powerful I was to begin with. I guess my back felt a bit better now, though I was sure I could have done a little better if I had healed Cana - self healing was always a little harder though.

And then apparently a third year screwed up with a mandrake. By my mother, I couldn't believe how bad students were at taking care of themselves, mandrakes were not that hard to care for - but it at least got me out of that busy room. We got moved into a smaller recovery room with only two beds. And then Mister de Vries told us to rest for a few hours and he will be back to check on us when his workload died down.

So I wasn't going to lay here and rest in this robe, they were heavy, annoying, and uncomfortable - especially compared to how I generally am. So I stood up - I felt good enough to do so, and I just gave Cana a little wink and a teasing smirk, as I simply begin removing the robe. "If you're uncomfortable with seeing what an actually attractive person looks like, please look away." I was showing off, I always was showing off, but I wasn't making it anything - I was going to sleep.

It just so happened that meant removing the robe and having a bare body shown as I lais back in bed - I obviously needed no further restriction than the required uniform, and if I was going to sleep I was not going to wear that. It is not as if I had any sense of shame.

I roll over the other way, letting out a small snort at Teague's response, irritated by the overused name joke, but a bit flustered by the compliment, however backhanded and self congratulatory it was delivered. Luckily de Vries heads over at this point to start taking care of us. I would have appreciated a bit more treatment for my head wound, but what de Vries did seems to have stopped the bleeding and healed it up anything especially dangerous about it, its still pretty tender. The potion for the pain helps with that as well, and I've nearly drifted off to sleep when the swarm of students flood into the wing with mandrake comas.

In the waiting room, I flop down onto the bed, letting out an irritated sigh. There goes any of the sleepiness I'd built up. Perfectly good chance to take a nap, ruined. I shift over to look at Gwendydd as she starts to talk, only half hearing her at first- wait what! I blink as she starts to strip down in front of me, my mind racing, there was no way this wasn't either some stupid attempt to get at me or a really, really, blatant offer to have some fun. Its not like she actually was doing this to get more comfortable or anything. Not someone as self conscious as Teague.

Oh thank God that was over with. And thank Fate that it was my turn, Margot had been mucking things up all morning.

Still, that vision would be worrisome. Poor little Senna, such a sweet little girl, or, well, so she appeared to be. I wonder if she was going to be framed or if she actually did whatever it is that'll get her arrested. Maybe it'll be worthwhile to spend some time with the Hufflepuff and see if I can get an inkling as to if she has any ulterior motives, or anything. If so, wouldn't that be fun?

Still, the next class up was...unfortunately...Potions. I suppose out of any of me, I was the best suited for it - it required exactitude and patience to properly mix and brew a potion without ruining it - and I was the best at keeping steady, not to toot my own horn, of course. Even still, I was grateful to Byron for volunteering to partner with me during class, even if I would never say so - the boy was talented at that sort of thing, and without him I would have most likely blown up the class by now.

Then came lunch, and with it the Prophet's crossword. Now, I generally enjoyed puzzles, brain teasers, and quizzes, but this one was a real doozy. A couple of the questions were stumping me, for whatever reason, though maybe that's because there was something itching at the back of my brain about the puzzle; something familiar.

Still, I was having trouble with this one, for instance: Discoverer of the magical properties of 7; seven down. I had no letters. Or this other one - six across; Head of class breaks some enchantments. Or this, 10 down; Leader of the army that was led in 1945. All I had was a G. Frustrating, indeed. But no, I wouldn't give up on it. In fact, I could very well use this as an opportunity.

So I got up from my seat, smiling at the other Ravenclaws a moment, and unceremoniously sat myself down across from Senna. "Are you playing the crossword?" I asked abruptly. "A couple of the questions are giving me the vapors, mind giving me a hand?" She looked distracted by something, but, I gave her a sweet little smile and raised an eyebrow - maybe it would work for distracting her temporarily.

The Creator was a terrible miststück, and I felt like They knew that. I had kept to my tongue bit as I watched Victoria wobble and wiggle mentally between the options. In fact, I hadn't chosen at all, just picked several successful possible futures and go with them, the choice was an illusion, but it seemed to make her happier than years. I feared that the fräulein was expecting things to continue for longer than I most likely will exist, but at least she will have good memories, or at least impressions of memories. I doubt she would remember me, and that made me kinda sad in a way, but I wasn't sure why.

Lunch time for a long time I skipped it, but it lead to questions about my whereabouts. So now, I had a spot on the former Slytherin table, at least that was the banner that hung by it. Victoria would normally join me as well as the few of the cobbled together people from my Arithmancy club, Tommy von Volfenfled and sometimes James Catther that would tag along to such things. Victoria would bring her friend Althea Deline who seemed to be fine with that. Our little group would hang out and usually chat and talk about either school work or gossip. Valerie was the only one who of course sat with her group.

I suppose it was not cool enough for her, Valerie seemed very image obsessed.

A few would try to "convert" me to some new form of entertainment, this was a popular tactic among them all since even in my cover, I was raised by my very Luddite foster parents. Even normal Germans thought that I spoke old fashioned and was from a time long ago. This was quite useful as a cover, but the others took it as a hint to attempt to get me to like the newest form of media. A few of the muggle-borns enjoyed revealing all of newest and latest they got off the Internet. To me it seemed rather obsessive, but they sure did enjoy their things, from Omi to some cartoon called Steven Universe all of these were mixed in with Taylor Swifts newest songs.

Some of it I found rather interesting, but the music was not to my taste, it lacked the depth and force I was use too. The choirs of angels above sang at sounds that I could feel and see, that passed right through me, but these were just pale imitations of such. The wizard kids always fought back with their favorite bands, though nothing lame like the old Weird Sisters. Apparently, the biggest things were Lich and Gobs a duo of the biggest artist in the world. Apparently the brother and sister act are known for their concerts that sometimes breach the boundaries of acceptable use of magic.

Of course the parents hated the band with a passion, and I would not be surprised if the official Hogwarts stance was to take the magical records away, but of course that rarely stopped anyone at all. Rules rarely controlled anyone, they instead were in place to allow punishment, and that is all. Once you realize that, the lack of actual structure behind everything and how it is all self enforcing becomes clear, and I always shook my head how wrong that actually was. The Creator worked the same way, and it was agonizing to be a part of, to hold back and wait for nothing, your purpose meaningless.

However, today wasn't typical, I even entered the room with a bad mood.

My feathers were ruffled to their fullest extent from Arithmancy. It was a complicated subject all about numerology and the magical form of it unlike the muggle form was actually fairly correct in its prediction. Today was a quiz from what we had learned that quarter, each of us was given a sheet of newspaper from what appeared to be the London Times and derive the actual results from the story. They are right, that the words put on the page create an actual reality where they exist, but the part I always found puzzling is focusing on the words and instead of what caused them to be created, alas I misspeak.

What I saw in the newspaper was filled with desperation and anxiety, it was fighting to survive, and the world was changing faster and faster. The underlying theme continued as the interconnections and paths of the words continued, that this was a medium that was dying and its people from the printer to the actual writer grasped at straws to stay relevant as it fell. Its author started to suffer from ulcers as the society around them moved from a more Edward R. Murrowian view as the media as a form of education and information into a form of sound bite and instant gratification.

It was almost heartbreaking to read between these lines to the interconnections in the very fabric of the paper, and the idea that life would continue on the way it always had been. Nothing is endless in this universe, and it is a hard lesson when confronted with the death of what you thought was infinite.

Shaking my head, I focused on the actual words on the page and started to add them up, which then led to another chart to extrapolate a different meaning. The words on the page slowly formed, "H-A-R-R-I-E-T-W-I-L-L-L-E-A-R-N" Oh not now. I looked at another section of the paper to a different story and continued this time faster, and doing so mentally. "H-A-V-E-Y-O-U-F-O-U-N-D-T-H-E-T-E-A-R-S" I gritted my teeth and looked at to another section which revealed something more akin to the fact that the Prime Minster would be arrested in a few months. I decided to go with the last one.

Usually that class is more relaxing, but not this time. Even when I came to my spot there was a first year in it from Hufflepuff, she looked so tiny, I was amazed for a minute that I hadn't even seen her till I came over. "This is my spot... um whoever you are." I said to her. "Fochyn Al-Ghoreer and I need to be here!" She said an odd certainty and rather squeaked than talked. Her accent was a thick welsh, and with her very dark skin with long black hair only added to brilliant and brazen attitude. Rather than be known as the Slytherin that pushed around a 1st year, I decided to approach this more diplomatically.

"Listen, I know you got first, and it might even be important, but can we not compromise. All of these are my friends, and I always sit with them, I wouldn't even mind you joining us, but I would like to sit with them." Kneeling to her eye level and so she wouldn't have to look up at me, I asked slowly, "You might even have to be here, and I don't dispute that. I just need a little space to get in here. Why do you have to be here anyway?" I ask curious, but more so looking at Victoria who had taken interest in watching us two talk over eating.

All right, the poo poo between Cana and Gwen? I'm not getting between that. Yeah, it's all getting pretty drat violent, but hey, those two can handle each other, and I'm not eager to throw a punch at a girl, right?

Nah, I'm trying to keep an eye on Chaucer. Who honestly is having me a bit worried. I mean, it ain't strange hearing my mates give a grin and a look at two birds going at each other wrestling and hair-pulling, innit? But there isn't much 'fight" about that fight. Was pretty brutal all in all. Kinda hopin' Chaucer here's just trying to bond with me or something. Of course, his talk about facebook and social media poo poo isn't exactly helping my impression. 'pick a girl and she'll meet you?'

"Unless you're talking about the girls you need to pay money for, Chaucer, even back there you gotta show a bit of charm, right? Gotta have an interest in her. You don't wanna just get your wand wet. You're trying to make something. Don't just throw loving piss come-on lines at 'em. Figure out what about 'em really makes you nutters about 'er and talk to her about it." Honestly, I don't want him to go at a girl who might not be able to kick his rear end if it comes down to it. And I have just the woman in mind. "Look, I know this bird, I'll see about putting in a good word for you. She's pretty tall, and sporty, got an interest in Muggle shite too. Plays football. You show up, I'll introduce you, alright? Jus' remember mate, it ain't Care of Magical Creatures dealing with girls, yeah? Not a matter of havin' right right magical sugarcubes or something?"

If he ever gets to use the internet, I need to make sure this bloke never gets on reddit.

Anyway, honestly, we spent more time yapping and now and hten half-heartedly slinging a spell at each other then really practicing, so I wasn't too tired when the class ended. I headed to lunch, figuring I'd have a talk with Harriet, the Slytherin Beater about giving Chaucer a chance when I hear people poo poo-talking me. I immediately freeze. This could probably cost Gryffindor some points, but you can't let that thing go. So I just walk over to that table, leaning over a bit. "Hey there, mates. Sounded like someone at this table's throwing some disses my way. Now either way that's a guy who feels he's got the balls to come at me, in which case, let's have at it, or it's a basic little bitch who likes to feel like a big man but doesn't wanna put on his big-boy pants. So what is it?"

Luckily the lesson came to an end before Gillian could say anything. Maybe I could have feigned experimental interest in how my spell went, I mean looking was perfectly understandable when all I wanted to see was if my spell had worked properly. Right? Unfortunately that didn't seem like that excuse was gonna wash. Professor Legate made out that I was being punished for staring at Gillian yet I could see her eyes involuntarily flicking to the container on her desk.Still minus ten points is a bit much. Not that I personally care but some people get ultra competitive about that sort of thing for reasons I'm not entirely clear on. Must be a mammal dominance thing. Guess the blood really was for her then. I wonder what she wanted it for?

Potions was potions. I'm pretty good at it. It's just following instructions after all. Although Professor Bohr does complain my potions lack flair whatever that means. I followed the instructions he gave me what more does he want?

Then lunch time. That's one of the things I love about Hogwarts the food. There's always as much as you can eat and I'd worked up quite an appetite with the morning I'd had. I was just starting to dig in when an owl dropped a letter on the table in front of me. Just narrowly missed my bowl of soup. I wish they wouldn't do that. Still it would at least provide some entertainment since the other Hufflepuffs were avoiding me Word must've already got around about the minus ten. Out of curiosity I opened the letter while eating my soup and almost choked when I read it. It was another note from Dad, Where the hell did he get his information from? was someone here working for him or did he have some sort of super-scrying thing that he was using to check up on me? See the first thing it said was stop mooning over the girl. I thought for a moment that he meant Harriet but then I looked again no the name said wait a minute Valerie? I'm not interested in Valerie. Well not like that anyway. She's just part of my attempt to figure out what makes you humans tick. Still he ordered me to drop her said there was another girl I should be sinking my fangs into. Cana.

Seems her family was in the way of Dad's schemes and he wants some sort of blackmail on them. How he expects me to get it I don't know,. I barely know the girl! I don't think I've said more than hi and bye to her all the time I've been in hogwarts. Still if I don't want another Howler I guess I don't have much choice. I guess I could feign an interest in quidditch or something maybe? isn't she on the Gryffindor team or something? To make matters worse I'd wanted to talk to Harriet again over lunch. But she was nowhere to be found. I hope she isn't upset with me over something. I mean I thought I'd connected with her right for once. Oh well there's nothing I can do about it now. Meanwhile I was trying to rack my brains for any excuse I could find to talk to Cana there must be some interest I have in common with her.

I make note to tell Cana and Gwen both about homework at lunch time. Either they'd be recovered and I'd speak to them there or I'd pack enough lunch for both of them and visit them while they were recovering and tell them then. Regardless I pack up to go and head to my next class Apparition! I was excited as I was finally old enough to learn this and Apparating would make it so much easier to visit my extended family! Gramma Beatrix was always complaining to dad how we never visited enough.

Anyway, today we were practicing safe teleportation from one side of the room to the other with the extra condition that someone else was going to the exact same place at the same time. That added challenge really upped the difficulty.

Normally, Cana would team up with me but she's in the infirmary so I--

I don't even get to choose someone else. Lizbeth rolled up to me and claimed me for her partner immediately. I knew she had some rivalry with Gwen, she must have picked up on something.

The whole time we're practicing she bad mouths Gwen, talking about how "She got hers" and how glad she was that "someone put her on her arse." (I scolded her for swearing. She didn’t apologize.) She then questioned me about Gwen and spent the whole session grand standing and posturing. It was very uncomfortable!

But it ended and I learned a lot. I feel I got a lot better at focusing and self awareness.

At lunch, Lizbeth sits with me and continues badmouthing. Brittany also joins me and she's acting pretty nice. Most kids are talking about their classes, complaining about homework or professors or classes. Some are still talking about the Tri-Wizard Tournament or the Quiddich match. A handful of my house mates are discussing the House Cup which is how I learn Hufflepuff dropped five points. I was confused, I thought we gained five! Brittany tells me about Zach's antics in class and I'm quite upset with him! It bothered me how Hufflepuff never won the House Cup and I was kinda hoping we could make a real go at it this year. I sigh.

As I'm partitioning up a pair of lunches to bring to Cana and Gwen Lessy's questioning settles uneasily on me. I don't know what to do. I'm a friend to both of them and I'm definitely going on that date with Cana. I just hoped I didn't have to choose. I'm too engrossed in my own thoughts to notice anything else about my peers. I even try my best to be polite when I wave off Brittany questioning me about how unusually closed off I'm being at lunch. Which is true, I'm normally very social and this is unlike me. Regardless, I don't snap out of my fretting until Mags calls my attention to her and--

Is she hitting on me? Is it something I wore today? I give her a warm smile. "Heya Mags." I start, keeping my tone friendly. "I'm not particularly good at those things but we can research answers together if you'd like!"

[Giving you what I think you want, answers to your quiz thing.]

I take a deep calming breath. I'm never wearing this outfit again. I force myself to be sociable, grabbing up a pen. "These questions are always obscure knowledge or trivia and they're usually about the wizarding world, which I'm not too familiar with. But I'll do my best. Maybe it'll be easy as a team." I beam prettily at her.

Oof, well, if I was making up the feeling woozy about the crossword her cute little smile sure made it seem about real. Still, I slid over to give Senna room to sit next to me, and I nodded. "Oh, it's Margaret, by the way." I know, I know, it was confusing for everyone, but while Maggie and Margot could generally muddle through with being misidentified I didn't have much tolerance for it. Besides, my name was the real one, anyway. And well if I couldn't be a stickler for detail, who could?

"Well, I'll be square with you Senna," I start in "normally I don't have much of a problem with the crossword - I love the things, ha." It was true, I was a real cracker-jack at crosswords, normally. "But this one is just about tickling out a vision from the back of my head - you know that feeling like when you've got a sneeze just stuck in your nose?" Cute little nose - er...stick to the explanation Margaret you're acting a fool "Well, it's a lot like that, which, I don't suppose I have to tell you, makes it a real trick to concentrate on anything but trying to work out what it's trying to tell me." I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. It was a bit frustrating, really. "But, a lot like a sneeze stuck in your nose, I don't know that there's a whole lot of coaxing I can do to get it out before it's good and ready, so the crossword it is." I offered her a pencil - I always carried a few of them; gifts from home mostly. Say what you will about fancy writing spells and quills and ink and all, but I always stick to a good pencil whenever I get a chance to - they're reliable, and simple, and I don't much see the point in changing just because I'm at Hogwarts.

Now though, I was still kind of in Maggie's providence. That is, all this social interacting hullabaloo. Nevertheless, I'd try and pry for details while I could. Or at least get a sense of Senna. Well, more of one, anyway. "So, that sure was a real humdinger of a Dark Arts class, wouldn't you say? I missed most of what was happening over there on account of my own duel, but you seemed to have things well enough in hand. Do you normally try to put out fires like that?" I pause. "I mean, not to be nosy, but I'm curious. About you, that is." Oh well maybe I wasn't very good at being subtle. Like I said, this wasn't really my forte. Ask me to break something down, I'd be on it lickity-split. But building it up? Well, we'll see how that goes, I suspect...

I had just barely stripped down when I could practically feel the lurid gaze on my bare form, emanating from the only person in the room so uncultured as to stare at what they lust at, without any concern for decorum or tact. Not that I hated it, the feel of the gaze on my body, I certainly didn't stop - I loved to be stared at, to have it be shown how easily I manage these things, how wondrous I am compared to them, even in things that with the utmost effort they could not reach. But I was also not some slack jawed hussy who would respond to such stimuli by undressing more seductively, and I certainly wouldn't acknowledge the silent staring at my rear end.

Okay, maybe I wiggled it just a little as I sat down into bed, and started to pull the covers up around me so I could sleep. Which seemed to work, seeing as Cana practically jumped up, the thirst obvious in her eyes as she stared at me, without any shame, even her little bite of a comment unable to truly do anything to fight back, still obvious in how it was barely trying to hide the gaze. And maybe I left the blanket just barely over the top of my chest, so the top half was exposed enough for her to look at. But that was, obviously, all I would do, and I scarcely believe I would even need to, with how she leaned down and practically begged for more.

Literally, she asked if she could see more, as she leaned down to kiss me, and I didn't mind it, in fact I leaned up to meet her lips, and wrapped my arm around her, holding her by her butt. "Just a touch more for you." I didn't really mind the taste of the lips, I expected something worse, rougher, coarser, not... soft, not normal, not like they should have been, I could have just let this happen, could have seen how this played out, I already knew how it would but...

Giving your string back.

I couldn't though, I pushed her away after only a half minute of kissing - not hard enough to send her flying or anything, but hard enough to remove her lips from mine, giving her a little grin, one hand on her butt still, giving it the tiniest squeeze as I teased her, "It seems like I've gotten my puppy kind of wet, haven't I?" Oh gosh, that was horrible, and I said it with that accusatory tone, pulling further back at the same time, "I don't think I'm into wet dog right now." She couldn't possibly make it worth my while, not enough to ruin my chances with her girlfriend... who she was so quick to cheat on ,tsk.

I enjoy the kiss while it lasts, shifting around just a bit in her grasp while it continues, pushing myself further into it and her as it goes, until she pulls back. At her words, such a creative insult, never heard the dog one before, oh no, I let out a half growl half snort of laughter, shifting my position over her on the bed. "Oh? Are you sure? You seemed to be enjoying this wet dog quite a bit a moment ago." With a smirk, I glance down at Gwen's hand, still resting on my rear. "Doesn't look like you want to let go."

Gwen pisses me off. Her incessant need to be the best, the way she is, or almost is, at a lot of things, and the way she acts about the one thing she can never beat me at, Quidditch. She drives me crazy. Her personality just rubs me entirely the wrong way, and I can't get enough of it. We all need rivals, and I can't think of anyone who'd make a better one for me than Teague. And right now, I want her. I'll take no for an answer, but I'd much rather the answer be yes.

Grinding my hips a bit, I take her other hand in mine and guide it towards my butt, pushing her down on the bed with the other and lean further over her, letting my breathe play on her neck. "I'll stop if you want, just say the word." I bring my lips down to her neck, kissing it, giving it a teasing bite. "Or don't say anything at all."

Erhard - "Uh, ok... but can I have the seat tomorrow?" She's seemingly determined that that's fair. Do you agree with her? If so, she happily switches to another seat, loading her tray with some apple fritters and candied apples, all the things she'd ever want. If not, she bravely holds her ground, looking concerned to be clashing with an older student but resolved to keep her seat. Who do you speak to when you first sit down, and what do they say back?

Lee - "You're awfully brave with professors in the room." One replies - Marcus, if you remember right, a 7th year - while shifting them a sidelong glance. "Bet if we take this outside it'd be different though, right?" The others are watching him, as it's clear from the look on his face he's not finished. "I'm willing if you are, muggle." While the boy to his left has a sour look on his face, the others seem greatly amused. Rising to his provocations? Or letting him get the better of you? Do you have anyone (other than Chaucer) that'd back you up?

Zachary - You think about it long and hard, and it's like your brain shifts and a different part - an ancient part - is doing the thinking. It sees the way she moves, the way she looks at things, the toothiness of her smile, the way her eyes have seemed slitted in the dark, reflective and silvery. You may not have noticed, but It did, and It knows a threat when it sees it.

Whoa, is something weird about Cana? What do you think about your dad's instructions now that you think she might be dangerous? Who tried to talk to you while you were out of it, and what excuse do you make for you daydreaming?

Senna and Margaret - What question do the two of you solve easily, and what's still stumping you? Senna - The Prophet's Advice Column, which is located adjacent to the crossword, contains a letter that sounds a lot like one of your classmates. Who do you think it is, what problem do they have, and do you think the columnist's advice to them was good? Margaret - Do you have any advice for Senna? With those two ruffian girls clearly after her, doesn't she need some sage wisdom before she does something foolish?

I thought about it for a moment and looked her over, it was a quick choice, just asking Tommy later to save two spots would allow me to sit with the group and be able to keep the promise. It was not exactly a fair compromise, after all she didn't actually tell me why she needed, but I suppose if it ever came up, I would ask again. "Sure, sounds like a deal." I held out my hand and shook her much smaller one. She seemed to agree with that and loaded up her plate and moved to another table. That was strange, and rather odd formality with her that I wasn't quite sure the reason.

With that exciting adventure out of the way, and handled, I sat back down. Everyone was looking at me before they burst into laughter. Normally, I would join in, but I was still trying to figure out this verdammt tears question. The food in front of me, was for show purposes, and a single bite in most everything gathered, was enough to allay fears that I had some eating disorder. If you asked me, it was everyone that had the disorder, I hadn't forgotten the forest, and the whole gastrointestinal process was not my thing.

"I thought she was cute." Althea chimed in after the laughter subsided. "I thought that I saw Erhard quiver and shake at her!" Tommy said with a cackle afterward. "I thought he was being sweet" Victoria chimed in and I gave a gentlemanly nod of thanks.

"So what did you all find in class? Or should I say, what did James find?" I asked with a bit a twinkle in my eye and everyone looked at the abnormally quiet James, who normally loved the result of his pranks.

"It wasn't anything I did! I swear, I just got the letters wrong!" He said looking a bit dumbstruck, "Listen, if I was going to change the letters around, I would have not put "Rene is a liar!" That doesn't even make sense!" He said pleadingly to us, the problem with pulling pranks is that when something is real no one believes.

My eyes were different than most, and I would think about the Arithmancy teacher a little bit differently from now on, "Oh calm down, what is 5 points taken off, and a single night of detention. I bet you just have to fill in the new charts for the next day." I said trying to placate him, but he wasn't having any of it.

That was odd.

Everyone has a rival, every good hero of note has that rival of theirs. Not the one they hated always and who they wanted to kill, but the one who they knew closer than that. Potter and the Malfoy, Dumbledore and his Grindlewand. Cana was that, she was my Malfoy I supposed, my foil to be, the only one who might be remembered from my stories who didn't worship me. How irking. She shouldn't be special in any way, she's just a little dog who wanted to grow wings and refuses to learn practical skills, focusing on barbaric sports such as Quidditch. But, in ways, that was - I suppose - better. It made when we met like this, when we fought, all the more explosive.

And every good tale of heroes is explosive - you need big battles, big arguments, big anything. I suppose this would count as big, she moved in closer and it was tempting again. A rival didn't have to be someone I hated, and I don't think I really hated her - oh I wanted to beat her, I wanted to show her I was better, but hate was more than that. I honestly didn't want to kill her this morning - I didn't want to make it so permanent, to remove her from my life. Even had I been able to get away with it, I wouldn't want it, it wasn't what I wanted from her. Part of me wanted her to stay around, even if it was just to fight with, even if it was just because she had an actual fire.

And she made it so easy, my hand slipped into the robe as she teased about me not saying anything, moving towards where her bare flesh would be, "If anyone should beg, it's not me." I pushed up to kiss her, then gave her a little smirk, "If you do, we'll have fun. But we're following my lead. I can make it more than fun." A little purr at the end, I'd flirted enough to know how to get people going, even if I'd only had a single girlfriend. I knew how useful flirting could be.

Fades, if Cana can stand it! Gasp.

I'm blushing again as I accept the pencil. "What have you heard that's made you so curious? Because there's not much special about me." I begin to scour the crossword when my eyes fall on the advice column, I wet my lips as I read the blurb. Someone's just had to get braces and they're wondering why it couldn't just be magicked better because he hated it. I knew that an acquaintance of mine, Dylan Cox, had recently gotten braces so this sounded like it must be him. The advice was that wizards must learn when is and isn't an appropriate time to use magic and that there was a place for muggle ways. Dylan was told to just tough it out and be glad that he has this unique new look. It was a nice optimistic twist on his situation! What good advice!

It always bothered me how readily wizard folk were to turn to magic to resolve their differences and problems. My dads were both muggles and they didn't have such simple solutions to their woes. They just had to scrimp and save and work through it, rolling with the punches. Magical ability seemed almost like an unfair advantage in comparison. It bothered me that some people were magical and some weren't. I didn't like using my magic unless I absolutely had to because of my upbringing, and especially not when certain people who were magically inclined acted like they were so special. But, my dads were special too. Everyone was.

I turn my attention back to the crossword, most of this trivia was wizarding stuff and I really didn't know much about the wizarding world. But, then I spotted one I knew! "Oh, Margaret! I know this one!" I bounce with excitement and draw her attention to the page as I lean forward, unaware of how my low cut blouse dipped in. "Former Jokeshop located at the current site of Weasley's Wizard Wheeze's Hogsmeade branch" I read aloud, leaning slightly against her as I penciled in the answer. "It was Dervish and Bangs, my godmother told me about them, she used to get all her pranks from there." I was excited and not paying attention to my leaning, I was dangerously close to Margaret now.

Still not on the mouth though, I had...just that much propriety left in me.

Giving herself to Senna in her old lady way

Very unlike me, oh dear. I blushed. "Well...good job. That does look like the right answer." I worried at my bottom lip with my teeth for a moment as I considered the awkwardness of the situation. This wasn't really my thing, but I had to say something. I cleared my throat.

"You know...I can foresee all sorts of things. I had a vision about you earlier. And, I'd say I've got another vision lined up for you, too." I inhaled sharply, and thought. When I spoke again, I could feel my voice shifting ever so slightly between myself and her, and it was with both of our voices we spoke. "I see more of this, and other things, in the coming days and weeks; for you and I. Mark my words, soon you shall seek to make me yours."

If you fail to avoid the fate, mark xp and I gain a string on you.

If you do avoid the fate, gain a string on Mags.

Oh and also, I shift aspects, so I'll toss the Disoriented condition for changing to the Maiden

Crap, I can't believe I missed it until now. The way she walks, the way she looks at people, the way she acts. Cana is like a predator amongst prey. She's dangerous and if I'm not careful I could be next. I'll just have to be very careful move quickly and silently and only strike when I'm ready. I'm a snake I'm good at that. But that still left how the hell was I going to get Cana to do something embarrassing. I didn't know a thing about her. I'd have to start there.... find out a bit more about her somehow.

"Galleon for your thoughts?" I nearly jumped out of my skins at that. It took me a moment to realise who I was talking too. Analia. it must be mating season otherwise why would so many human females want to talk to me? "They're probably not worth that much" I said sheepishly to her. "Oh is something wrong? bad news from home or something?" she asked curiously.

As far as I knew my Gran was as healthy as a horse and it's the Egyptians who should be scared for their health if gran ever gets her fangs out. But I digress.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that" she added actually sound concerned. "listen I just wanted to say thanks earlier for standing up to Eustace, it's about time someone told him to stop being such an arse and to stop pestering everyone." Huh, I hadn't done it for that but eh I'd take the credit. "So umm could you do me a favour I don't suppose you saw where Harriet went after class? I wanted to ask her something." I said to her.

Yeah, I got friends, but generally, not too many that I'd want to pull in a fight. I'm supposed to be defending, not being defended. Chaucer is there. Cana is pretty much all about Gryffindor, she might back me up, but I'd prefer not to ask. Senna'd likely try to put a stop to this thing, so she's off the table. Mostly, I'm hoping this bloke's gonna give it a fair fight. I look at him, trying to figure the sensations. I get a feeling sometimes. An idea of what kid of shite people are up to. Well... why not? Letting her lead the way might be fun, though if she expects to stay in the drivers seat the whole way... We'd have to see. I point my wand at the door to lock and place a muffling charm on it, then turn back to Gwen with a wolfish grin and open my mouth to reply. . .

Fading

Unfading

I know I should probably get up and dressed before de Vries, or a visitor, comes, but whenever I consider it, I end up just giving Teague a little squeeze, and continue laying there, enjoying the moment. One arm wrapped around her possessively, I shift around a bit, and give her another, of many recently, grin. "You've got a filthy mouth Teague," and I lean in to kiss it, biting gently on her lower lip. I think I know where I stand -or lay- with her a bit better now, it isn't like Senna, where I love almost everything about her, I doubt the way Gwen behaves will ever not drive me up the wall, but if it didn't, she wouldn't be her, and I wouldn't want to spend time with her, needle her, and show her up. I wouldn't want to fight her, or to kiss her. Which I do again.

Reluctantly pulling myself away, I stand up and move back towards my clothes, laying in a pile on the floor. Even though I've left her, I can still feel a connection between us, she'll never be Senna, but that's because she is Gwen, and we might be rivals, but that's a bound as well. "If I'd known this would happen afterwards, I'd have shown you up in class earlier Gwen."

The blushing on my cheeks deepens and spreads more as Margaret's lips press to it and I can't help but squirm self consciously. I can'the help but notice that Margaret is an attractive woman. "O-Oh gosh!" I stammer at her edict. I couldn't see myself ever doing that! It was improper and I was a good girl! "That sounds v-very self-serving!" I blubber over my words at her. I shyly shift away from her hoping I didn’t draw too much attention to us. I didn't want people talking about this.

[Senna gains a string on Mags from her skin move.]

Unfortunately Lizbeth had been looking at me the whole time. She saw the cheek kiss and she had a pondering expression on her face. I felt a sense of dread. Lizbeth would do ANYTHING to win against Gwen, what sinister plot was she hatching with this new information?

I looked around the room for help I did not expect to present itself and instead I find it! A distraction! I see Lee over by a table of Ravenclaws with an aggressive posture and immediately know I need to diffuse this altercation before it got out of hand.

"Pardon me a moment" I say to Margaret, with perhaps some relief, as I lift myself up from my seat and hustle over to the Ravenclaw table. I get there just as the last barrage of threats are leaving Lee's lips. Just as the other boy is standing up to accept the challenge. I fling my arms up as I move between the pair.

"Nobody is making anybody cry!" I exclaim. "You, sit back down!" I bark at the boy.

Fortunately, I was well practiced at this sort of thing. If I had a lollipop I could complete the image. I sidled up next to her and smiled absently at Lee as she finished her sentence. "Senna, you can call me Maggie, really. Margaret's so impersonal. Heya Lee - you oughta listen to her. We're working on a crossword or whatever, three heads is better than two, right?" I said with a grin and a raised eyebrow. As a concession to Margot, I'd leave the option like, open for him or whatever; but really? Ew. Margot had such bad taste. Senna was way cuter. Still, I guess I really ought to try and figure out why she was going to get arrested, too. I'd let her calm the situation here down first but there was no way I was letting her wriggle out of having a "chat" with me yet. Nevertheless, if I could help her maybe it'd help me, in the long run. So I winked at Lee. "C'mon man, I'll make it worth your while."

Scene 2
Everyone please update your character's info under their nameplate with each post. Location, xp, etc.

Lunch Crew
The table of Ravenclaws are none too happy with Lee - Marcus is in the midst of standing up when Senna does her thing and interposes, Maggie rushing over as well. "Aww, sticking up for your boyfriend Avener? If you're so eager to fight Lee's battles for him, I'm fine with that." The rest of the table looks pissed, one girl even looking towards Maggie and offering some advice in a harsh whisper. "You sticking with her? Marcus won't like that, you know." There's a few onlookers but none of the professors seem to have noticed the goings-on yet.

Senna - What an awful boy! Are you willing to fight him? Would Lee want you to? What would your dads want? What do you want? And why would he imply you're with Lee, that's not true at all!

Marcus is willing to not fight Lee if you agree to fight him instead. Gain condition Lee-Lover.

Lee - Listening to Marcus, feeling out his heart is easy - it overpowers the rest of his table's. There's not much white or grey to it - he's unpleasant to be polite about it, evil to be more specific, and his heart's black as shade. The lights shift slightly, and you feel a coldness grip you in a flash. Gasping at the sensation, you shiver for a moment before recovering eerily fast. Weird, right?

Gain the condition Shadowed.

Are you glad for Senna and Maggie's help, or should they have kept out of this? What do you think of Marcus being willing to duel Senna? What do you say or do to make things between you and Marcus quite clear?

Maggie - What's the name of the girl that's taken it upon herself to offer you advice? Can you stand busybodies like that? Are you going to listen to her, and abandon Senna like your housemates want?

She gains a string, then spends it to offer you 1 xp to sit with them now / stop associating with Senna, for this lunch-period at the very least.

Erhard - Your group's table is close enough to the brewing Lee and Senna vs Ravenclaw war to have some opinions on it. Who admires the two of them, and who thinks they're foolish? Which viewpoint do you support? Should you intervene? Which of them seems like they could be of use in investigating the tears?

Zachary - "No, I haven't seen her." Analia answers, her expression shifting, mammalian eyes narrowing into what you believe is a suspicious expression. "Do you like her?" She asks, but before you can answer- *WHUMP* You're suddenly pushed facefirst into your food. It doesn't hurt so much as it's highly embarrassing. As you pull yourself out of your lunch, you hear Eustace laughing his rear end off behind you, and he's not the only one. Ouch. What are you going to do?

Gain the condition Wearing His Lunch

Recovery Room Crew
Sadly, all good things must come to an end. There's a knock at the door, with Mister de Vries asking how the two of you are. He also seems to be mumbling some very school-inappropriate language about locked doors. Do either of you concoct a way to keep him out, or is it time to put the room in order and let him in?

Gwen - Have you actually gotten redressed, or have you been lounging about in your full glory since events transpired? What do you think of what just happened? What do you think of Cana? Are you feeling well enough to go back about your school day, or do you want to rest for longer?

Cana - Anyone you feel like telling about this newest escapade? Think they'd believe you? What does you spirit-bond feel like, and can Gwen feel it to? What inventive profanity does Mister de Vries use while trying to open the door that you find particularly amusing?

I'm content with it, Cana may have thought that she was going to have a chance to take control, to dominate it, but I wasn't going to let her get that uppper hand. This was my show, and I took it over - not that my audience seemed to mind, once it got started. I had the prowess to match my boasts, even if most of it wasn't practical knowledge - but who needed practical knowledge when you could easily just fake it and still make it? And make it... and make it... okay, you get what I mean, really what I'm saying is that Cana was not as bad as I thought she would be, and I actually enjoyed myself, and enjoyed her. I would certainly enjoy the image of her I now had in my head, much different from usual.

I didn't even really mind the cuddling, really, I suppose the comments about there being an 'afterglow' is true, because I certainly felt good enough. Better than usual even, I even let Cana wrap herself around me a little, as I lay pressed against her - even ignoring the tinge of anger I had at letting her show off how she was taller than me. She didn't say anything at least, just gave a small joke about my filthy mouth, "If it's filthy, it's because it's full of you now, bitch." I don't know if I even said it to be mean, or because it was a pun on her being a dog, or if I was just being playful, maybe it was a mix. It just felt natural to call her that - I couldn't give her a term of endearment, I didn't want to call her something nice, but I also didn't really want to pull away.

But she did, eventually, she started to get dressed and I couldn't help but want to tease, my wand being drawn to play with some of her underwear, keeping it out of her reach with a simple non-verbal spell, floating it just out of reach. "You don't need these, do you? Too restrictive." I was having fun with it, with her, and I wasn't even that angry for once. I had no intention of really getting dressed, I mean, how long could we have taken, how long could it have really been? De Vries wasn't going to be back for an hour or two when he left, probably lunch time, and we clearly hadn't spent that much time... so I was happy to lounge, letting Cana admire me.

A try at the door and then a curse as the nurse tried to remember simple spells to undo locks. Literally second or third year level magic that some advanced first years could pull off, this is what our healthcare was like. It's a wonder more people don't die playing that Quidditch game, I can't imagine he's much good in an emergency. But he'll figure it out soon enough, and those robes are a pain in the rear end to get on and take too long, even for me. Stupid overly restrictive uniform.

I grabbed my pile of clothes and winked at Cana, "I see your head needs to heal up still. Delusional. Have fun with him." Arms full of clothes - though sans underwear of course - I thought of the Prefect's bathroom, and raised my wand, uttering a quick "Apparate!" It was the perfect place to go, it wouldn't be odd to be naked, and it was generally empty - most of the other Prefects didn't care much for more than one bit of cleaning themselves up a day. Ew.

Doing the impossible was just par for the course, but sometimes even I could mess up. I probably should have gotten dressed.

None of them know what I know. They have no reason not to sit with me, even though I don't want to see any of their faces at the moment. So across from me, at a far end of the Ravenclaw table, is Martin and Erin. Gillian is busy drying off her underclothes in the girls' toilet, which works out for me.

"Sorry about that," Erin remarks, "I was more focused on getting back at Eustace, and an errand would've proper cut into that." She drums the table with her fingers, choosing her words in a remarkable show of tact. "You have been a bit of a drill sergeant since the year started."

"I know," I tell her, quietly dicing my slice of turkey, deliberating on whether I should eat or let the hunger drive me. "I'll talk to Cana when she gets back from the infirmary. And, I'll try to be more..." What's Martin thinking right now? Is the letter in his pocket or did he already slip it into the wall? I watch as he idly scoops a forkful of mash into his mouth, wondering how the cold iron feels on his lower lip. "Friendly."

I don't think either of them noticed my staring, one because Erin was digging into her bag. "Here. I was planning to keep this until your birthday, but seeing as we're getting along better I thought why not now?" She takes out a paper-covered ball of some sort and sets it on the table. "Happy Birthday, Val." Oh, this is encouraging. I methodically unfold the crumpled paper and peek at its contents.

It's a series of horse-themed necklaces from a variety of cultures: Celtic, Chinese, Roman (or Greek?), and what appears to be Native American (is this authentic?). "I couldn't decide on just one, so I got a whole bunch. You can have 'em all if you want." This is clearly a test of my benevolence, seeing as there's four here.

"I like this jade one here... but I couldn't possibly accept all of them. Erin, why don't you have that silver one there, as thanks for being such a good friend?" Erin happily obliges to the one she wanted all along, while I take the rather phallic-looking Roman necklace and hold it over Martin's bowl. "How about you try this on? You know, the Romans considered horses to be a symbol of strength, victory, and virility."

I don't think he understands what virility means, but as he snatches the string from my hand I gently stroke his hand with my finger. Erin understands what's happening and pretends to admire her amulet very closely. Hopefully Martin is better at noticing signals.

Victoria bristled at Lee and Marcus's conflict and looks away as Senna steps in between the two. Blushing bright red between her raven black hair, I leaned forward and whispered, "What is wrong Victoria." I give a very concerned look that gives away my natural need to serve. Though I might try to expunge it just like the feelings of the flesh, I cannot. It is a part of me, that I must contend with, and there a lot of concern for her in both my soul and flesh. Her response was to look up at me and give a mousey little huff that I had to admit was rather cute.

"Both of them are being beastly, and going to ruin all that work we did to get into first place." She gives out another huff and looks down at her plate before, "Both that Lee and Marcus are going to have a go, just watch. Such children. I hate them both." Victoria said most likely thinking of the ten points that she had gotten in Runes. There seemed to be something weird about Marcus for sure. My eyes flickered to a violet as I looked beyond just the physical. I didn't know what it meant, but he was very good at hiding it from me.

"You shouldn't let them get you down." I said back at her, "I know you are above such pettiness over points aren't you?" I asked her seriously, and gave a warm smile. "Just forgive and move on." I said in a somber tone, and for a brief moment of time things seem to hang in place as we looked across the table from each other.

"Really, he is bloody brilliant, Erhard seriously." Tommy chimed in breaking the moment between Victoria and myself. "He is just a muggle so all prats who think that pure bloods should get a fist to the face. I want to see both go at it. Um-" Tommy said watching Victoria brim on what looked like tears and anger. "I am sure Marcus will get a few good hits!"

"Yeah Erhard, Lee will take that Marcus down a peg." James added very unhelpfully, "Though, I mean he is being brilliant right now, I just hope that that Hufflepuff doesn't ruin it." James said before quieting down from a glare from both Althea and Victoria caused him to shut up.

Victoria and Althea looked at me expectantly, "It is stupid. Foolish in an extreme, but there is something more going on." I said offhandedly at the group, waving my hand. I turned in my seat and stared at the two and smiled at the others. "I am not going to stop them though. Senna believes she knows the best for everyone, and so, I will be more than happy to see if the same treatment she tried to give Eustace will be effective now." I gave a cheshire grin, this was the reaping of what was sown and I was honestly enjoying it.

There were no signs from the Almighty right now that I had to do either way, and I was content in that. Lee, however, he understood the necessity to bend rules rather than break them. His use of slang and local phrases might be helpful knowing what the tears were. There had to be some reason it was in nothing my research had brought up at all, but how to approach him?
