This terrible season didn't even have an arc of storytelling, idiotic poo poo just kept happening for no particular reason with no detectable consequence - at least S1 had that confrontation with batboy. 'The Strain' and its directionlessly vague version of the abrupt end of civilization looks like extra dogshit compared to the (short as heck) debut season of 'Fear the Walking Dead', haha

It may have been plagued with awful teen characters but was actually well paced and somewhat thrilling in its best moments, everything 'The Strain' isn't. Except for the teen actor plague part!

How the gently caress can Ephram get dozens of head shots on movin targets with a pistol but couldn't hit Eichorst with a rifle when Eichorst was standing completely still. They should kill everyone but the old Jew, Eichorst and the Luchadore and have those three go on wacky adventures ala Aqua Teen Hunger Force

Or the opposite - how does a show like Shameless, or Ray Donovan find these great child actors that only get better as they get older? What do their casting director people know to look out for that The Strain and Sons of Anarchy don't?

Yeah I'm really hesitant to blame the actor. The character is written as dumb as a stump and given nothing to do but make things worse for everyone around him. If I couldn't get past how loving stupid the kid and the cdc mexcian lady who lost her mom in season 1 was will I be able to get through season 2? Edit: I made it to the end of season 1 but didn't care enough because of the above to watch season 2.

Is it just me, or does it feel like mostly female characters have been shuffled off this season? Coco is dead (for real) Nora is dead, Dutch has deserted them for stupid relationship reasons and Justine seems to have been shuffled off in accepting Palmers dodgy job offer.

I waited til the season was winding down to read the second book, and I'm glad that it didn't go in the direction the book did, and I'm not sure a lot of that would have worked for the show. Killing off Setrakian and Eichorst (as well as Palmer) would be the worst. I also can't see them ditching the current premise for a post apoc Vampire fascist show.
