Feng Huang PP: 1 The Pheasant sought solace in contemplation during their long journey, pondering the nature of trust: what benefits it held, and what dangers it posed. Certainly the ram had earned his trust, despite their initial...misunderstanding. Of course, when he realized he was being tailed through the streets of Bangkok, it was natural for him to then suspect that the sheep with the daisho that he encountered was another State Security experiment sent to assassinate him. Though Feng Huang had sought to strike first to eliminate the threat, it was fortunate that the other was indeed well-trained in the art of battle, or an innocent might lost his life due to Feng's undue haste. He first thought that his assumption may have been unfounded when the other accused him of being an assassin in turn during their duel. But it was only when the State Security toadies leapt from the water shortly thereafter -- ironically, drawn by the sounds of their fighting -- that his journey toward trust truly began. For what he thought was an opponent swiftly became a valuable ally, giving the squad of hit-amphibians far more than they bargained for. Only a few of them managed to hop away after Histuji and Feng were done with them, while more than a few of them had croaked. While he had expected to find a perch aboard the freighter alone that night, after the conflict was ended he saw the wisdom in traveling with another companion, and Hitsuji expressed interest in claiming a berth as well. The culmination of Feng Huang's long internal deliberation coincided with their arrival at port. And after several days of silence, when the ram spoke, he knew that he would agree to the request. "Your thinking mirrors my own, Hitsuji Tadashi. As one pole of a yurt leans upon another to support the entire structure, let us lean upon one another for as long as is necessary, until we have each made our own homes here." With that, he opened the access panel on the freight container and blinked as the morning sunshine exploded into the formerly-dark interior. Feng Huang posted:Affiliations :

Feng Huang PP: 2 XP: 1 Milestones: New York's Finest, Wing... At first, Feng cannot take his eyes off the poor huddled people cowering in the back of the shipping container. Then his eyes narrow as a string of invective is unleased against the innocent women and children. Since the man speaks in Feng's native tongue, the mutant understands every threat, every barb. This will not stand! he thinks to himself. When the ramurai whispers to him, he nods back to his companion in response, before launching himself from his vantage point and gliding to the top of the stack of shipping containers behind the bad guys. The rickety, hollow, rusting shipping containers that will likely do more to amplify any sound he makes than to hide his presence. Buddy d10, Flight d8, Covert Expert d8, Shipping Container Towers d4: Go Ninja Go Ninja Go!: 1d10 2 2#1d8 1 1 1d4 2. Ninja...ninja...crap! Total is 2+2=4, with a pity effect die (d4) to sneak to an advantageous position against the thugs. Also a PP, plus two opportunities for Dyne to screw us over! Feng Huang PP: 3 XP: 2 Milestones: New York's Finest, Wing... Frank raises his pistol, but as Feng dodges aside, Frank can't help but be dazzled by the sunlight reflecting off Feng's brilliant plumage. His shot goes wide as he stands dumb-struck at the glorious sight. Buddy d10, Combat Master d10, Enhanced Senses d8, Enhanced Reflexes d8, I'm Sexy and I Know It d8,: Reaction: 2#1d10 4 5 3#1d8 2 3 8. 8+5 = 13 exceeds the bad guy's result, so I counterattack with a d10 effect die. Giving Frank the Complication: Awe-struck. Do I also get 1XP for "Being the center of attention"?

Feng Huang PP: 1 XP: 2 Milestones: New York's Finest, Wing... As the thugs let fly with their weapons, Feng lets fly himself, taking to the air to avoid their erratic shots before plunging back toward the ground in a streaking dive. At full speed, he launches himself into the side of the topmost shipping container, causing the precarious tower of metal to topple and scattering the thugs...those that are fast enough to get out of the way, anyway. Reaction is Buddy d10, Flight d8, Enhanced Reflexes d8, Combat Mastery d10, Hunted d8: Faster than a Speeding Bullet: 2#1d10 5 5 3#1d8 5 5 8... 5 + 8 = 13 with a d10 effect die. They miss. Spending the PP on a Resource (let's call it a "wayward chunk of metal"), then turning that around and using it in my area attack against the bad guys: Buddy d10, Flight d8, Weaponry d8, Combat Mastery d10, Shipping Container Tower d8, Resource d8: Crash!: 2#1d10 4 8 4#1d8 8 2 1 1 Edit: Extra Dice for Area Attack: 6#1d6 1 6 3 3 3 2 8 + 6 = 14 with the following effect dice: d10, d8, d8, d6, d6, d6; also three Opportunities for the GM. Edit again: the Ramurai is up! TychoBrahesNose fucked around with this message at 10:44 on Aug 15, 2015 |

Feng Huang PP: 2 XP: 3 Milestones: New York's Finest, Wing... Once Feng and his ally corral the remaining thugs, he steps into the shadows of the container and speaks to the frightened innocents in their native tongue. "You are free of those who would seek to abuse and manipulate you. If you wish, we can escort you to someplace safe, or you may attempt to find refuge on your own." Almost as an afterthought he adds, "Do any of you recall the details of those who promised you passage on this vessel? You were likely to be sold into slavery, and we mean to have words with those who would act in such a manner." Turning to his companions he says under his breath, "Humans!" as if it were an expletive. Do I need to roll to get useful information out of the bystanders before we take the thugs away for more serious questioning?

Feng Huang PP: 2 XP: 3 Milestones: New York's Finest, Wing... "So this 'The Shredder' wishes to inflict his tortures upon animals as well as humans. It could be that he is in league with the Chinese, and assisting them in their experiments. That would be most disturbing if their reach extended even across the sea. It seems that the situation is not safe for us here either, my friend. While it is tempting to go to ground yet again, it seems that there are others already like us that have been caught up in the danger. It might be, then, that we must do what we can to convince 'The Shredder' to give up his plans. If that means nothing other than taking the fight to him so that we -- and any others he would victimize -- might finally live in peace, then so be it." To Edward, he adds, "These Turtles of whom you speak -- where might one find them? And what of this 'The Shredder'? Is he a man who can be brought back from the path upon which he has strayed? Or does he speak only the language of the Fist and the Bullet?"
