I really love this album, and was hoping some of you could recommend bands/albums with a similar sound to this album specifically. Thanks and feel free to discuss Best Coast I guess.

Well, what did you enjoy about the album? Woman-fronted indie pop, west coast soaked sounds, or the garage-y low fi aesthetics?

All of it, but specifically those last two things you mentioned.

Colleen Green more grungy than jangly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O2VUAi-sIYM Wavves earlier stuff (king of the beach and everything before) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5biCmyJQtM The drums https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcHI_lTmog4 La Luz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlUiwINM5lM I'm just going to regress into insane level of garage rock so have a look, like, and share.

Not quite on the level of rhyming lazy and crazy (I've seen Bethany a few times live in LA), but here are some other surf-pop-rock and/or garagey lo-fi tracks: Jenny (Lewis) and Johnny, also based here in LA, more mature, less whimsical https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQAF5xLOliA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEmpKHWerWg Tennis, they started surf-pop but are less so these days https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtGoSCq-038 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a29g5ygQQak Surfer Blood, florida surf-pop, less mature, less lo-fi https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwWEHHAcQkc Real Estate, more east coast lo-fi, also awful singers irl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jt1mirm9FYg and if you are super old like me, you might remember this song from midtown two decades ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AB9AzxJ6WYE

Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, Shannon and the Clams, anything (pretty much) on Burger Records. There's a LOT of that stuff around now, and yes it's awesome.

Who's going to Summer Is Forever II? I'm going in a week and I'm very excited, as they're one of my favorites. As for recommendations, I'm a big Halsey fan.

Best Coast was great, Wavves were great and the opener, Cherry Glazerr (who I had never heard of before this), was also great. Best Coast played for like an hour and I didn't check to see how long Wavves played but I'm pretty sure it was even longer.

For Wavves, check out King of the Beach (the album) and Nine Is God (the song they put out for Grand Theft Auto 5). That's some of my favorite stuff they've done and they played both that song and several songs from that album last night.
