There's a newish joint called Nevermore or something, used to be where Fibbers was years ago. Super dark inside and is more club than pub but the cocktails are so good and they serve fresh pizza... A winner in my book.

Nevermind think nirvana

Also pizza, go to the hop.

I've just checked, it's called Nevermind. Apparently the only place in York with on off-license after midnight so until 4am so you can call in, pick up some booze and grab some food at the same time...

My friend owns it, ask me yo

How dare you.

Hahaha. The only place to go when you were off your face and everywhere else closed. Better than the so called nightclubs.

I remember when you'd rock up and someone's grandma was still in the corner from their 18th birthday party. As they allowed public in after 11pm

Good place for cheap drinks, free prawn crackers and for anybody who was enjoying extra curricular activities. If you catch my drift

I can't deny I had many a good night in there, dancing to terrible terrible music.

The duchess is good these days. I'll miss fibbers.

I'm back home in York in two weeks. Looking forward to seeing how none of it has changed in the ten years since I moved out.

The duchess is not good. quite simply the ugliest night club ever, have you seen the lollipop photos on Facebook? And o know the DJ and man she stinks of beef and onions or kababs. Seriously gross.

It's a big sweaty piss hole.

I'm just about to leave as you are coming back so here are my recommendations, from someone with taste and a bit of finesse :bigtran:

The hop down fossgate. Good beers, awesome pizza. Like amazing pizza. I need to take my man there because he fricking loves pizza. Don't you? (He wo read this)

There is also (if you're feeling a bit hipster) the fossgate social but it is real nice, they only sell schooners which a few of my mates don't like so much, but they have that nice Jaipur beer so meh. Worth it.

Duke of York is ok during day. Full of wanks of an evening.

The nice area which was around evil eye, is now terrible. Including the eye.

New fibbers where toffs used to be is actually pretty decent.

Nevermind, which my friend owns is awesome for cocktails and no chavs or Ben Sherman types.
Eclectic music and sells slices of pizza. I've been told I wasn't allowed them though because they weren't fresh, so wait for a fresh batch.
If they still make it, I recommend trying the porn hub and they also make a cocktail from pure pressed Apple (press it right there and then!) with any spirit. go for a spiced rum. So good.

Anyway

next dumb York question: organic groceries

is there some secret hidden place where you go to get that kind of thing or do I just have to pay through the nose at M&S like a chump?

Loads of places on fossgate. Fossgate is hipster organic central.
Hairy fig or something I think it's called
Or get to bishopthorpe road - middle class mummies with nothing better to do than eat in "the pig and pastry" while their husbands bring home the bacon.

York is a classic middle upper class city. If you can't find organic produce you're basically a retard

The market in town is brilliant. Don't be frightened of the toothless, as I say its York. The home of the most well off hobos.

They often have farmer market festival type things too with purple cauliflower and sh1t
It's brill.

Erm there is an awesome (but fairly expensive) local (support your local!) grocers / organic / health food shop called Alligator - Google it. It's near Mecca bingo and an awesome Chinese take away called Maks
I can't remember street name.

God dam loads of places

Just eat normal vegetables big man, you're in the EU now. Farmers spraying cyanide or some awful shot on crops is not a thing here.

This is also true. Yorkshire especially, anything local will be mainly organic and probably grass fed. Welcome to the UK

This is the one. It's like cocaine in a can.

Surely cocaine in a can is/ was coca cola.

And surely you'd have to, you know, take cocaine first to really use that comparison....
