Are we sure it's a hit piece and not a surprise endorsement? The Express' ideas for the poor veer much closer to Grandpa Corbyn than Jeremy.

I like that they had to go back 3(?) full generations to dig up dirt on this guy. Also pretty upset since I cant even get that kind of detailed family history from a genealogist but the UK press can dig up dirt on anyones family so long as they dont like them. Hmm... how hard is it to get into UK politics?

The Guardian is good, I enjoy their long-form stuff, but they do like to surround it with a lot of Tumblr-esque opinion pieces - they must have had a dozen editorials falling over themselves to label Corbyn an Enemy of Womynkind within an hour of McDonnell's appointment. The Independent is pretty reasonable, too. Other than that it's varying degrees of shite, generally broken down into two categories - papers by racists and papers for racists. Don't let the category names fool you - the papers for racists are still by racists, it's just the papers by racists are aimed at people who are so thick they need the targets for their tard-rage spelt out in small words and big font, while papers for racists are aimed at people who have pre-existing prejudices they wish to see confirmed in print. The papers for racists are the Mail, the Express, the Times and the Telegraph. The Mail is for rich racists who pretend to read the stories but are already so sure of their own world view that they don't really bother and secretly just wank off to the ethnically-dubious X Factor contestants in the sidebar, the Times and the Telegraph are for rich racists who still have the decency to dress their racism up in non-racist clothes before they take it out on the town (but are still really really racist), and the Express is for racists who are so far down the racist rabbit hole that they feel no shame in reading a paper that ran an extremely vocal anti-immigrant campaign they unabashedly called a "crusade". The papers by racists are everything else. The Sun is run by an evil Australian lich and is quite literally written for people with a reading age of eight, the Mirror is probably the least racist but is still retarded as evidenced by the not one but two stories about flying saucers on its front page right loving now, and the Star, which is just toilet paper with with tits printed on it. It's utter loving bedlam and it's terrifying.

The Guardian employs a few good people, mostly comedians but their Corbyn coverage was loving dire and really opened my eyes. I don't believe a word I read in that bougie rag anymore after they told me I was sexist for not voting for yvette cooper regardless of her policies, and had suzanne whatsherface saying there was nothing wrong with being a champagne socialist at the same time as she did it.

They have a lot of contributors who like to see themselves as "the voice of the left" but really only embody a very specific and very stupid form of left-wing thought. During and in the immediate aftermath of the election they decided that one of the biggest shocks in political history was "business as usual" and "same old nasty Labour" because the figurehead wasn't a woman, and you'd have thought Labour had elected Peter Stringfellow as Shadow Chancellor for all the racket they were making over John McDonnell. Femen will one day be a geopolitical threat.
