drat, didn't see that coming at all since he seemed rather healthy and active recently. I know WWE terminated the legends deal after the Austin thing, I wonder if they'll do anything for him on Raw?

First Dusty, then Hogan, now Piper.

Goddamn this is a rough year for aged wrestlers. Gonna be watching some matches on the network tonight I think. Such a great heel. Even when I knew jack poo poo about wrestling I knew about Roddy Piper.

What a bummer. One of my all-time favorites.

Sad to hear. I saw him at a house show at maple leaf gardens as a kid back in the 80s - he was the most memorable guy on the card by far. A very gifted and dynamic performer.

Dammit. When I saw him on Rich Eisen's show I remember thinking "I hope the next time Piper is in the news it's not his obituary" :-(

Roddy, despite all the bad stuff, has always been my fave wrestleguy. I grew up watching him gently caress with Hogan. I'm going to go drink heavily now.

His theme is really appropriate to play as a funeral march too. A jaunty one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VGD01VrjI4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2oXfVGiZuA

Piper appeared on the MMA Hour one time and Ariel asked him how he wanted to be remembered. Roddy got the most serious he's ever been and said, "A good father." Dude loved his family so much.
