The one on the roof can spot if the one by the front door dies, and can only see you if you walk onto the balcony. You can actually use the land mines, just get up close to them and a disarm prompt will pop up. They fit in the grenade slot. Also, the guard who wants Lemon Lime in 1-3 will eventually move over to the Pinball machine if he lives long enough, there's apparently an environment kill if you melee him while he's there.
