What's the best thread to ask about ls motors in

I need to know what's the best and cheapest way to build a 600hp motor and start buying parts

Make sure to add like 20 degrees of camber to your rockers on that drat obsolete janky pushrod motor

You should be running a modern DOHC motor like a 4.6 :v::v:

Tell me what options I have here!
Ls seems best way to make big, reliable power cheaply!
I can get a ls3, fitted in my m3, for ten grand! And it'll spank most anything worth less than about 10x the money. Imo

I'm not sure there's much info here about that kind of power. You can do about 500WHP with a cam and heads and a tune on an LS3, but to get a number that starts with a 6 I think you're looking at a turbo. Could do a cheap denmah build? Look up his threads on ls1tech, or just watch his youtube channel until suitably inspired.

You can do a lot more than that for sure. One of my mates in his 350z has a ls3 with a relatively mild cam and valves and makes 550 at the fly. Ideally I'd buy one of those lsx crates but $$$. I don't want to go fi just as prices/complexion rockets and reliability plummets. The question is just what's the most cost effective way to hit 6.

UK people - I want to buy some breakdown cover for my car. Has anybody ever used any of the cheap companies like startrescue or breakdown assist? I just need emergency breakdown/recovery for my daily driver, and occasional euro cover if I can get one with this rolled in.

I've been part of my parents RAC family membership for ever but the RAC have just sent my dad the renewal notice which said 'thanks for being a member for 40 years, here is your special commemorative membership card' and hit him up for a 30% price increase which they wont negotiate on so he has quite rightly told them to gently caress right off.

annoyingly, all my classic car insurance policies have UK and European breakdown cover included for free - including my series 2 landy which is insured for limited mileage (either 1000 or 3000 miles/year), and costs £40/year (their minimum policy charge)

Start rescue are fuckin mint. They've picked me up like 4 times. Always ace and they send low pickups for me which is nice :)

I knew that they built several, but I didn't expect to see them! They really seem to love what they do, here.

I just realized that the pictures I have of the Darth Vader car were take in the same circular drive in front of the building:

Twin Mill II looked better in Spectraflame paint and non-stupid wheels:

The blue one is perfect, with redlines and How Wheels wheels.

I love all the toys everywhere, and the classic ones on display. Mattel knows what it does, and is serious about fun (:D).
I'm telling you, if I didn't have a house and all my extended family back in DFW, I would seriously consider a long-term assignment here...

The little Accent I have as a rental scoots along pretty good. It has a 5-speed auto. There's a bit of a delay fro kick down. but it's not horrendous, and I've noticed that it actually downshifts and engine brakes when you slow down, which is new to me. In manu-matic mode, it pretty much does what I tell it to do, but the damned upshift/downshift is backwards. It works as marked, but that's back wards - it should be pull back to upshift, not push forward.

There was a link at the bottom of the post. What you see there is what I got. Wish I could have taken pics inside the Design Center, but that's all sorts of no-no (confidential prototypes and such. Mattel is serious about IP.)

LOL medical industry.

Only 1 or 2?
Wuss.
(I hunt for the new releases, primarily. I plan on hitting multiple Walmarts and Targets here, since different regions usually get different assortment allocations.)

You do know that Mattel owns Matchbox, too, right? In 1968, when HW came out, Matchbox didn't roll for poo poo - that was one of the innovative things about Hot Wheels, along with being models of customs and hot rods. And I have video of a HW going down that track just fine. :colbert: :colbert:

What the gently caress is a rip zipper?

It's a hot wheels thing that I designed in cad and got made !
