 I have a windows 7 key I want to use with windows 10. I installed windows 10 with an older install image (before 1511) and didn't enter a key, and then used windows update to update it to 1511. But when I go in to the control panel, it won't accept the windows 7 key.

Is the only way to use a windows 7 key to enter it at install time with 1511 install media?
