Right before they called it a day, a converter malfunction caused an explosion, damaging the hull, and resulted in damaged equipment. I just wanted to say I love you. Goddamn, I got eaten by that monster so many times. Aiming with mouse and keyboard during that part is miserable. So it's fairly common knowledge that Isaac Clarke was named after famous sci-fi authors Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clark and of course his parents are no different. Poul refers to Poul Anderson (who's work I'm not super familiar with) and Octavia Ocativa E. Butler who is probably one of my favorite authors of all time. I was inordinately happy to see her referenced since almost no one I've ever spoken to has ever even heard of her.
