This was the first time I’d ever seen or played an import of a game. Our local video game rental place rented this game with an adapter so you could play Japanese N64 titles on a US model -and this was several months before the game came out in the US, so I was already pretty familiar with it before I owned it. I didn’t even know about the ‘real’ last level or the gold cards until the game was a few years old. I tried to get them and gave up after a couple of hours because it just seemed completely impossible. I’m looking forward to seeing how much more bullshit they get. Also yeah, echoing sentiments in here that the multiplayer is fantastic. The core game is very clunky now. Playing this game as an adult I’m amazed I was able to get through any of it as a kid.

I remember this commercial getting quite a bit of airplay when the game came out in 1997, and I think I posted it in the last megathread. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqX_uuT6cMw While looking for that I also came across this really weird ad for The Second Attack. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPPRfcgRU2E
