That said, was second attack really that bad? I can't remember all of it, but I distinctly remember later parts not being in a weird perspective. Maybe I was just too young to notice bad design though: I personally liked plenty of its elements though, especially the megaman-like mechanics

I liked this game a lot as a kid, but I think I ended up using a Gameshark to get the last handful of cards I either couldn't find or just couldn't get the bosses to give up. I honestly spent a lot more time dressing up my Bomberman and playing multiplayer against the CPUs.
