Devil's advocate, he's jokingly calling your vote opportunistic because he's trying to make a joke off of my vote. I got that it was a joke, my problem with it is him inserting himself awkwardly into the the exchange.

I don't get why you'd stick with this when either the cats out of the bag,, or Jake is actually lying. But Jake lying makes no sense at all (since he'd get counter claimed at some point by the real mason).
