Just an update, he mostly just pillaged a bunch of dye packs and old lockboxes (and for some reason all the spare festival food we had). He did walk with some Purple Marks so I'll restock those today. Due to this, Peons can no longer invite to guild, and I'll try to keep on the up and up with getting our people who actually play promoted. In the meantime, if you really need something from a gbank tab you can't access, PM me and I'll mail it to you until I get the bank permissions sorted. The reign of free fantasy socialism has come to an END, I say. :P EDIT: Also, had 5+ people partied up running the big HE's in the stronghold, was MUCH FUN. For all the new 70's, if you've got access make sure to grab 15 or so of the Thayan Relics from the gbank. If you don't have access pm me. Then you can go turn them in at the dread ring and get 3 free boons with only the effort it takes to click windows a bunch. Then you can go to Icewind Dale and get the Vault of the Nine quest from Jarlaxle there, which will let you unlock your class artifact for both your main and any other characters on your account.

The script is still a thing, but because the leadership profession no longer awards astral diamonds, it's only useful for advancing other professions. No more free and easy AD.

I think you get bonus astral diamonds from your first two skirmishes/dungeons/PVP wins/possibly foundry arcs? (not sure on that last one) and then some pittance related to the expected clear time. The easiest way to hit the cap is to do epic dungeons and salvage the drops for rough astral diamonds, which will net you about 3k for jewelry, 4K for gear, 5K for the armor slot. +1k if it's purple rather than blue. From the stronghold's perspective, purple items are worth 20x the equipment points of blue items, if you're trying to decide whether to shard or donate something. Always check around fallen dungeon bosses, there's a chance they may have dropped a blue or purple piece of jewelry or gear. You can still clear a decent amount of AD from using leadership, by getting up to level 23 and 24 and selling the unbound peridots and resonance stones that drop from the chests on the auction house, but I don't know how that market is going to hold up long-term. You also get rough astral diamonds from the rare level 20 tasks that require marks of gratitude to clear, but there's a lot of buildup there in rescuing prisoners, cashing them in for marks, and then cashing the marks in, to say nothing of waiting for the rares to arrive. I think there's still a pretty big payout in joining the icewind zerg. Just find the giant group of dudes running around the southeast corner of Icewind Pass clearing out the easy heroic encounters and participate, then sell the unbound refining stones you get at auction. There's a decent payout for the resonance stones from the Tiamat Herald encounters, which start up 45 minutes after the hour in the well of dragons and are also often zerged for.

Another good source is making sure you do the Dread Ring lair quest - it used to be you got a purple mark of a various type every time you cleared it, then they changed it to 'very rarely', and now it seems like it's a much higher drop rate since the re-work of Marks and loot tables for them a few weeks back. The last 4 days between runs on 2 characters I've gotten 6 purple marks. Could be anecdotal, but if you do get a Greater Mark to drop you can sell those on the AH for about 50k each if you don't need to use them yourself at the moment. EDIT: also, to echo the above about salvaging purples, DO IT. When we start hitting higher SH needs for surplus equipment we'll worry about it then but for now everyone should be selfish so that we can get back to having large enough core of 2k+ lvl 70's that we can run dungeons on the regular. I had been leveling up tailor because I saw that they could make invisible underwear for transmoging (or what ever its called in this game) I probably should have looked at the actual craft to see why they were so expensive. Not only does each piece need 25,000 AD but they both also need a dragon egg... (not to mention it probably costs like 50k AD to apply the look to the underwear anyways)

There's also plenty of other stuff to do! Invite will go out later tonight if someone else doesn't take care of it.

It still gives character XP (which is useful for leveling) and tons and tons of profession boxes (which just recently had their loot tables revamped and are a solid source of various forms of RP and refinement stuff). Alchemy is always a good profession to level as it's by far the fastest (thus letting you unlock more slots faster) and quite a few of us in the guild are happy to loan out our purple tools/people so you can get the speed and quality result unlocks. Other than that, Jewelcrafting is the only other profession of note for all classes as it lets you currently make the the BiS rings of your choice.

I think they brought Temple of the Spider and Grey Wolf Den back online, only launching with Cragmire Crypts, but don't quote me. I mean, that's not a lot and I want more too. Heroic Encounters... well, Heroic Encounters work out alright in the Stronghold, when in theory you've got a guild to draw from. Getting pugs to do anything but zerg is kind of a pipe dream, though.

It didn't strike me so much as a "took it out" rather than a "just didn't update it for new max level". They were way behind schedule and not even remotely ready for release with their complete rush job expansion, which was blatantly evident to anyone playing when TOEE went live.

Yeah unfortunately I feel like they got royally screwed over by some kind of contractual obligation to WotC in order to get their big themed tie-in game expansion out in time. I really, REALLY hate the fact that they pulled the dungeons and haven't put them back in 6+ months down the road, and haven't spent any money with them since then, but the game is still fun. And while I do think that some of it is TOO grindy/the requirements are too high, having the Stronghold content around to constantly work towards is definitely a nice thing to just grab a bunch of guildies and run through for 15-30 minutes together. I'm *hopeful* for Underdark. It could very well be terrible. Cryptic has shown they're very capable of screwing things up royally. But if they're able to devote a good chunk of time and effort to this and get back to being a fun single-player friendly MMO that happens to have group content, it'd be a great step. We've got another double-refinement weekend coming up at the end of the month, so just a friendly reminder to everyone to stockpile RP in its various forms! I'll once again be disbursing tons of free stones when we get closer courtesy of our ex-members.
