Le Saboteur posted:It almost seems like the shows editing is framing McGregor as this guy who is only really there for himself and doesn't give a poo poo about the fighters which is an odd thing to do for their golden boy. Where are you getting this? Literally one episode has been shown, and it ended with McGregor meeting his team for the first time.

henkman posted:This part especially, a lot of coaches in the past seasons (I don't know if it's gotten better I haven't watched TUF since Sonnen/Jones) seem to push hard training the whole time and when you're possibly fighting 3 times in a couple weeks doesn't seem great There was one season in there in which one team was claiming that they were winning because the opponents were overtraining. It became an ongoing theme. I can't remember which.

red19fire posted:I think it was the Tito season, when he had his team training super hard the day before a fight. There was also the one coach's challenge where they had to ride exercise bikes and they tricked a guy who had a fight the next day into going all-out to win using a guy who had already been cut. Or am I thinking of another show? Well I think that the latter one is from TUF 2 when they had Joe Stevenson or whoever doing the climbaround spider drill on some heavyweight, and tiring himself out, and Matt Hughes just said "haha you win" and threw in the towel so his fighters didn't tire themselves out. No, the one I have in mind is much more recent. Google said that there was a bit of a theme of that on Edgar/Penn, though I didn't really watch that whole season.

Sprecherscrow posted:Did they offer it to the guy Saul beat in the semis? Yes. Saul beat Hall. He turned it into a brawl once Hall couldn't get any leg lock at all, even from a stall or a crawl. His game hit the wall. But when Saul had the gall to lie and drop the ball, Hall got the call.
