are HHL keepers still last years draft value + 50%?

T-Bone

HHL guys:

You may keep (4) players from last year's FINAL roster. If you have kept a player for (3) straight years you cannot keep him again (as in, they've been on your roster for 3 seasons). The keeper cost continues to be their cost from last year + 20%

I'll post a list of ineligible keepers soon so everything is clear.

Also there was talk about running a dynasty league in the last thread. Is anyone still up for that? I don't think I could run 3 leagues but I would probably play if someone else ran it.

If I wanted to start a 10-12 team, H2H (categories), full roster (4C/3LW/3RW/2F/6D/2G) keeper league, would anyone be interested?

I'm thinking the keeper rules would basically be a copy of the GoonTier football league, just with some parameters in place so FAs are allowed to be keeper eligible (TBD)

If there's enough interest, I could make a league

Count me in for HHL and LSL, though I don't feel like I'm going to be as competitive as I used to be I really stopped keeping up with the eastern conference :smith:

Also to all LSL newbies, seriously draft a goalie within the first 3 picks, if not 2. It's insanely important.

Agreed, goalies went super fast in my public league, luckily I got Devan Dubnyk early on....mind, I also got stuck with Pavelec and Lehner, so.....

Let's just say I'm thankful I drafted well otherwise.

I think I'm gonna have to keep Kessel, which I wasn't planning on doing. With the 20% increase he's at like $94 which seems like a steal.

Not really though. I won because I drafted really well. Hudler in the 12th, Forsberg in the 13th, Daley in the 20th whatup

Re-upped for LSL. It's asking me for keepers? Is that an intentional change?

My first ever LSL season was 13-14. My goalies going in were Rinne, Emery and Jason loving LaBarbera. That's cringe-worthy even before you remember that Rinne missed almost all of 13-14 with that hip infection.

Two guys I'm definitely keeping are Gaudreau and Palat, and they will each cost me $1 extra this season. Total cost for the pair: $9

I just have to decide who my other two keepers will be.

That's right, looking back now we had a few interested people.
Dandy Kaiser, perhaps it would be a good idea to do something together. My only concern is I already play in (and won last year :toot:) HHL which is also a keeper league. If I'm doing another league I'd like it to be a little differentiated from that league in terms of structure/penalties and what not.

Some things to lock down: keeper vs dynasty, potential penalties for keeping, which stats to use, roster size, some sort of prospects/contract system, etc. (Basically everything.)

Personally, I'd like this league to be a dynasty league where you keep a large number of your players. Auction draft. I think it'd be awesome to figure out a new league that uses fancy stats somehow, but unfortunately it doesn't look like thats an option yet. (At least with Yahoo.)

Is anybody else interested in joining a new dynasty league or have any thoughts about this?

I've never done auction before, but I'm up to give it a try. The only real ideas re: scoring and settings for my league were:

- H2H categories, and tons of them: I like H2H better than roto just for the randomness (my ideal league, for baseball as well, would be a H2H season, and then all qualifying teams thrown into a month long roto playoff, but I've never seen that as an option) but I've played in points leagues and hated them. My idea was basically just to have every relevant category be in play. Shots, FW/FL, Blocks, whatever. That way is more likely you'll have to actually draft a good hockey team top to bottom to be competitive.

- Full roster. I was thinking something like 4C/3LW/3RW/2F/6D/2G/5BN/2IR/1LTIR/1NA (for prospects)

- 12 teams, maybe 3 divisions of 4, division winners given seeds 1-3 of 6. We could do something fun with divisional set up rather than just have them being random.

That's really as far as I got, don't really know if they all port over to auction style

T-Bone

I might not do auction since we already have an auction keeper, and because in a normal dynasty league you can trade draft picks which rules.

I think all of this sounds great. I'm not sure about the Roto playoff system after a season of H2H though. Yahoo has a huge number of stats to track, it's probably a good idea to narrow down which ones are worth using.

T-Bone posted:

I suppose that's true, I just really prefer an auction draft. Seems like nobody else is into that though. I like the idea of trading draft picks too. We did talk about a system where you can trade auction budget cash, but I'm not sure if everyone is into that or if that's feasible.

HHL Ineligible Keepers
Tyler Seguin

Sergei Bobrovsky
Matt Duchene
Ryan McDonagh
Antti Niemi
Ryan Kesler
Gabriel Landeskog
Jordan Eberle
Roberto Luongo
Corey Crawford

and mine are:
Ryan Johansen $2 -> $3
Tyler Johnson $15 -> $18
Filip Forsberg $2 -> $3
Semyon Varlamov $24 -> $29
