So basically it takes a literal murder attempt and very early red for a kiwi side to lose to an Aussie one. And part of me is afraid that the tahs will still find a way to lose this.

Russell's big problem is that if he's forced to chase a game he'll try risky things. Until the third try Russell was playing really well and constantly causing issues for the Scarlets line.

Laidlaw at 10 is interesting. He can clearly play there, as the 6N showed but odd to see him there for the BaaBaas. Good team otherwise, should be an interesting game.

I was a bit miffed that Piutau pulled up in the warm up of his last Ulster game but he's missing the Barbarian's game too so maybe he isn't a cynical mercenary oval office. Ashton hat trick though

The fact that they've benched the flamboyant showman in place of a scrum-half who's had weeks to train with them, and work out a playbook makes me think Pat Lam seriously does want to embarrass England. If Laidlaw comes on late, and there's still any chance of beating them, he's going to go for the jugular. I really want to watch this match now
