It seems US is going to have a six team professional league from next year.

Has this got any chance of being a success?
It's interesting but I still have doubts about the quality, if it even gets off the ground. Seattle's club team with 4 USA players in it lost to University of BC last weekend, and a few guys in their 22 have only picked up the game in the last couple years. Is the depth for this league out there? That and travel costs were the big killer for the Rugby Canada Super League.

When The Ospreys played a crucial league match there, they didn't realize that there were no changing or showering facilities at the ground. They had to change into their playing kits in a nearby classroom, and then stayed in their kits until they got back to the team hotel. The catering was apparently a handful of pizzas delivered to the team bus after the match.

Is this a joke or is this serious? If it's serious...oh my

It really seems like Lancaster had put together a great base of a team, but just didn't have the experience or ability to get them over the top that a real top-class coach like Eddie Jones can do.

I love the idea that Warren Gatland has developed the most potent and exciting rugby strategy of all time, and the only reason we've had 12 years of passing the ball to large men, attacking the channels closest to the ruck, and then just box kicking it away when that doesn't work is because Gatland has been so determined to not reveal any part of his godly strategic genius until 8th July 2017.

I can't wait for this to be either 100% ironically correct or the perfect indictment of northern hemisphere lovely rugby. It's the ultimate decider in a few hours!

Yeah that was an awesome game. Great finish. Have to feel for the Scots but they needed a try out of that time on the 5m line, though a team yellow card should have been at least threatened to NZ.

I don't know why but I'm rewatching the second Lions test right now. Barrett misses two really kickable penalties dead out front. SBW's red card wasn't criticized enough at the time - it's really stupid and completely unnecessary. Then the ABs go down to 7 forwards in absolutely terrible conditions. And still should have won the game on the balance of play.

In retrospect that tour was so much fun. The Super games were really fun and the tests were full of drama. Wish the Lions could have had 1 or 2 more weeks to prepare and space out the tour to raise the level of play even further.

Good test lineup for tomorrow - looking forward to Scotland/Aus, Ireland/Arg, USA vs Georgia...and hopefully Fiji doesn't beat Canada too badly.

Could someone explain to me (a filthy casual sometime Six Nations watcher) what the deal was with the HIA? Why was it advantageous to France for it to be a HIA as opposed to a normal knee injury?

If it's an HIA, they can bring on their starting 9 who came off earlier as a replacement. If it's an injury, they had to use someone else and they'd be without a specialist 9 on the field.

Uruguay scores and is up 23-21. Not looking good for Canada.

25-21 with a touchline conversion.

Final score: 32-31 for Uruguay, Uruguay qualifies for the World cup and there's a good chance Canada misses.

Canada needs to change domestic structures immediately, at this rate it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
