Welsh backs shovelling absolute shite all day. They keep that up and better sides will murder them.

Gilchrist ruled out of the tournament with a groin injury. Guy is so unlucky, if he fell into a barrel of tits he'd come up sucking his thumb.

Some absolute howlers from the referee and TMO today. First try was a triple movement followed by a forward pass in-goal. SA were tackling the lifters at every lineout, until they were told off. Strauss and Denton almost landed on their heads a couple of times. Then they went on to collapse every driving maul. The SA winger jumped up and nearly took off Duncan Weir's head just before the Scotland try. Same man then lifts up Swinson and tips him, then lets him go, so he lands on his head. De Jäger presumably knows that he is 6' 9" tall, so he needs to not tackle everyone around the neck, just because he is real tall. Burger was generally rolling around on the wrong side and holding on to the scrum half at the breakdown. Of course, during this, the TMO had taken a monastic vow of silence, only to be broken if Scotland throw a flat pass in midfield, or have a bootlace untied.

Marler getting pulled up for his boring in at 49 minutes, subbed off at 51 minutes. Hmm.

You clumsily put someone who is already doubled over in a tackle down on their head = 5 weeks reduced to 3. World Cup over. You straight up sucker punch a guy in the guts with no provocation (not that it matters) = 2 weeks reduced to 1. Back for the semi if they get through. You almost take Duncan Weir's head off with a late high tackle, then lift, tip and dump another player on his head. No action taken during or after the game. (JP Pieterson) Who loving knows what's going on with this poo poo anymore. It's arbitrary and utterly inconsistent. They should just do a text-in vote on the World Rugby website as to who the public want to see banned this week, at least that would be transparent and accountable.

Painkiller posted:Scotland U-20's had never beaten England U-20's...until tonight. 24-6. Utterly thrashed them. England had a massively dominant scrum but Scotland were so much better around the park. SRU, thanks to the BT money, are finally putting decent operators in to key positions in the coaching and development set-up. It's not just old-school-tie lifers trawling the posh schools and border clubs any more. It's very early days, but having steady hands like Big Vern and the like in the background is great. Making some interesting choices as well, Sean Lineen and Kelly Brown coaching at London Scottish, gives us an English base of recruitment. The decision has finally been made to grow up as an organisation, to build a solid foundation for the future of the team. Sentimentality has to go out the window, players are there to serve the objectives of the team and the union. People snorted into their pints when the big boss said the objective was to win the RWC in 2015, but we were a better line-out and one game from the final. I don't think we'll win the 6N this year, but we have a settled, quality side, with none of the opposing teams being clear favourites. Three biggest things will be avoiding stupid sin-bins, being sensible at vital set pieces, and not shipping soft points.

That bench though. Itoje is a great athlete. Jamie George was everywhere, offloading for the Farrell try. Marler keeping the scrum solid. Danny Care doing his usual monkey business, quick as you like. Can't compete with that.

I hate Mike Brown but I love a bit of shoe pie being given in the ruck. The kicks to the face were in a backwards motion, so I reckon he's fine. Fucker was holding on to the ball on the ground, give him a dunt.

No further action for Mike Brown over the kicking incident. He's a horrible wee oval office, but that wasn't an occasion where he showed it. His loving backchat and whingeing to the ref is the problem.

stavros880 posted:The 6 was about 5 yards away and missed the tackle by inches..... I mean, the ref gave it, so it's a try, but lets not pretend he was miles off Never broke stride, and the other Frenchman was tripping Laidlaw, hence why he grabbed the guy. Then immediately let go, the guy never twitched. So perfectly fine, even after review by ref and TMO, who are more qualified than you or I.

Foxtrot_13 posted:Plus that red card was justified and is a text book example of a tip tackle. If that had been done by any one but a Welsh player you would of been fine with the card. I got slaughtered at the time by my mates for saying Warburtons red was justified. Wouldn't even be in question nowadays, shows how much has changed. He picked him up and put him down on his head. Off you go.
